Regina / Switson/Viking/Coronado etc Trimline Machine Bags

This is great information Doug - thank you so much for posting. I have a Viking version - the D175, but I haven't so far been able to locate a bag that really works well in this machine. The spout diameter is smaller than many machines and its off centre position seems to limit choices. In...

Viking / Royal Model 133 Upright

Thanks once again Les! So I opened up the machine yesterday - a little cumbersome since the head and the fan case are all one unit. In any event, took everything apart to get a closer look at the bearings. Attached are some pictures. I was able to extract the pressed sleeve bearing on the...

Viking / Royal Model 133 Upright

Thank you for checking Les - really appreciate it. I did try the Henry Company already and they didn't have either the correct brushroll or the front oiler bearing. I'll keep digging and see if I can find a part number for the front bearing. Appreciate the help once again.

Viking / Royal Model 133 Upright

Front Bearing Thank you for the insight! Yes, its a very unique looking machine and its in such good cosmetic condition I'd really like to get it going. As for the brushroll, I believe I read somewhere you can't use the ones with dual brush strips on a motor with sleeve bearings - these...

Viking / Royal Model 133 Upright

Hello Everyone I came across this recently and decided to try and fix it up. Doesn't look to have been used much at all and from newspaper ads appears to have been sold in 1942 in Canada. There is only one other mention of a model 133 that I can find in the archives but not many details. I...

Switson Industries Machines and Parts list

Thanks Doug for doing this - its great to have this resource as there isn't a lot of info out there about these machines. I have a Viking Trimline; model D175. It came with the green matching carpet nozzle, the wands and the hose but that's it. Nice to know what the original pieces were so I...

    Sunbeam Dual Deluxe Wheels

More Pictures! Here are a few more pictures. It came with all the attachments I think. One problem was the latch button was broken on one of the wands so I drilled the rivets out, fixed it and riveted it back on. Works great now! Thanks for the tip Tom - Bags are definitely hard to find. I...

    Sunbeam Dual Deluxe Wheels

Thanks for the info! I can't edit the title to correct my mistake but next time I'll know! This vinyl button that should be there - guessing the function was just to prevent the floor from getting marked up? I'll see if I can rig something up - maybe one of those plastic white screw caps or...

    Sunbeam Dual Deluxe Wheels

Hi there folks - wondering if the experts can help with a question? I have this Sunbeam 660 vacuum. When I got it someone had riveted on a small plastic caster to the front - definitely wasn't original. I took it out and I've been trying to find a picture of the bottom of the same or similar...

    Eaton Viking Canister

Thanks again everyone! Rob I hadn't heard of a Numatic vacuum so looked it up and see what you mean. Great idea. I hadn't thought of using a liner instead so might give that a go. Doug, have to echo the comments on the website. What an incredible collection and awesome job organizing and...

    Eaton Viking Canister

Thanks for all the replies guys! Appreciate it! I took a look at using a Electrolux bag but I don't think it will work although it seems to be the right idea. The Viking isn't quite as deep but, the problem is more the location of the hose outlet. As it's off-centre it seems to be harder to...

    Eaton Viking Canister

Hi Everyone, I picked up this 1960's Viking a few years ago but haven't ever been able to figure out what type of bags it uses. From what I gather from previous posts this style doesn't seem like it was around for a long time or particularly popular. Seems like it was also only sold in Canada...

    CDN Electrolux 88 Help!

Thanks for all the replies guys - I really appreciate it. I tried a local Aerus dealer today to see if they had any replacement hoses and the only thing they had was a green woven used one and wanted $100 for it so I passed. He told me it wasn't worth spending money on such an old machine...

    CDN Electrolux 88 Help!

Hi Everyone, I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction on this. I bought this really nice Electrolux 88 recently and it has a few issues. It came with the complete set of accessories and instruction manual and from what I've read, these are really great machines so I'm...
