Hi there folks - wondering if the experts can help with a question? I have this Sunbeam 660 vacuum. When I got it someone had riveted on a small plastic caster to the front - definitely wasn't original. I took it out and I've been trying to find a picture of the bottom of the same or similar machine with no luck. I was hoping to find out if there was actually supposed to be caster/wheel there originally or it was without. It has the two large wheels on the side that do maneuver it around sufficiently so I'm thinking maybe not?

Wondering if anyone can look at the bottom of a machine like this or similar and let me know if its supposed to have some other kind of wheel or caster besides the two at either side and solve the mystery for me!

Thanks in advance

There was no wheel in the front, it was a plastic white button in the hole, that vacuum only had 2 wheels. Oh BTW, that model is not a Dual Deluxe, the Dual Deluxe was tan and the only Sunbeam that had the optional turbo nozzle for carpeting.

Thanks for the info! I can't edit the title to correct my mistake but next time I'll know!

This vinyl button that should be there - guessing the function was just to prevent the floor from getting marked up? I'll see if I can rig something up - maybe one of those plastic white screw caps or just a felt furniture pad.

Have to say - this thing really moves air! Its not the quietest but it certainly has strong suction.

A felt furniture pad would work perfectly. There's a reason that machine has such great suction and airflow. There's only one fan, but it's HUGE. The size of a small dinner plate. Congratulations on your Sunbeam - try to buy genuine Sunbeam bags (orange in color) from eBay - the bojack bags will break every time due to the tremendous suction.

More Pictures!

Here are a few more pictures. It came with all the attachments I think. One problem was the latch button was broken on one of the wands so I drilled the rivets out, fixed it and riveted it back on. Works great now!

Thanks for the tip Tom - Bags are definitely hard to find. I was using a bag meant for a Hoover Celebrity for awhile and that seemed to work OK - the opening just had to be coaxed on as it was just ever so slightly smaller than the Sunbeam. I did find a small package of Sunbeam bags at a Thrift store recently so at least I have a couple for the future. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more.

Of all the vacuums I've ever used, this is probably one of the tops. Suction is amazing, its very compact and maneuverable and the tools, particularly the wide floor brush and the excellent rug tool are among the best. The small foot print makes it easy to store and because it can stand up on its side, works great for stairs. This is definitely a keeper!

Did the plastic button cover up just the hole or did it overlap the whole surface of that protrusion as well?
