    that ugly keeler thread

The first time I saw the keeler bagless conversion I laughed. I thought there's no way this works worth crap, so I took one of those eureka bins I had laying around and a Kirby hose end, some PVC and glue and threw together a bagless conversion of my own. I put it on my Kirby g6 and turned it...

I can't believe how people treat their vacuums

Mark, ours just has the standard aluminum diving board bumpers, but I did lower it a couple of inches

the reviews of vacs: oreck xl

As far as models go, ive personally used anything from the 9100 to the xl21's. Mostly 2600 and 2500 and the commercial ones. The xl21 fan housings seem to break less than the classic xl style machines, and they seem to have a slight bit more airflow. I do like the stiffer bristles of the xl21...

To seal, or not to seal, now is the question.

I always seal the fan case on every Kirby I take apart. Fine dust DOES find it's way out.

the reviews of vacs: oreck xl

I'm right there with Seth on this one. After cleaning beachfront condos and hotels, houses and businesses, and also being a former employee of Seth's. Orecks are not very well suited for commercial use, especially in an area like this with alot of beachfront properties. I've replaced so many...

Hoover Upright U5018-900 disassembly technique needed

remove the two screws i marked in the pic with green lines, and remove the two screws on the other side as well. this detaches the nozzle from the main unit so you can open it up

    Abandoned Hoover 65 (I think)

I've been to Centralia to explore. That old hoover isn't there anymore. It's not more than a cemetery and a couple houses. The municipal building, complete with a fire truck and ambulance. There's an active coal mine right outside of the town and a church on the mountain side that can be seen...

    Olympia One motor repair

If it's worth fixing. My Olympia is in dire need of motor work, it apparently had a hard life before I got it. The bearings sound trashed, it arcs, and the fan housings are beat up, to the point where the plastic air director behind the first fan is broken. I've never had to take an electrolux...
