    Good Groomer

I have just had medium pile carpet fitted to the first floor of my house (no carpet on the ground floor). The carpet won’t get particularly dirty but, I need a vacuum that will groom the pile well to stop it looking down trodden. Max budget is £200, but preferably less, it must be new and, I...

    End of Dyson Cinetic?

The upright model has been consistently and quite heavily discounted here in the U.K. lately. I've seen it at £250 in my local Euronics store which is half price. Maybe a further sign they are being discontinued.

New Bagless Miele Blizzard CX1 is finally here

Just had a email announcing UK launch. Given the EU regulations limiting power to 900 watts from September, why introduce this with a 1200 watt motor? It will soon need to be changed to comply!

    Commercial Upright (UK)

Thanks for the info! I think the BS36 is the best option for my business.

    Commercial Upright (UK)

It will be for use by housekeeping staff in a care environment. There is little risk of theft and should be looked after as well as could reasonably be expected.

    Commercial Upright (UK)

I am about to purchase an upright vacuum for commercial use and have narrowed the choice to a Sebo BS36 or a Sebo Evolution 350. Which is best? Any advise would be appreciated!

    AEG Straight Suction Cylinders

I've been using gn bags in the 250 to extend the life of each bag. I have 4 dogs so they fill quickly! Hence mentioning aeg or dyson bagless to save consumable costs, and perhaps bag odours too.

    AEG Straight Suction Cylinders

Wow, so many comments already! Just googled the Sebo E series, looks good. I didn't like the K series and the D series would likely be too big for me. Perhaps the E will be the one. I guess my old Miele S250 will soldier on for a bit until the E arrives. The only thing putting be off...

    AEG Straight Suction Cylinders

Does anyone have any experience of the above? Bagged or Bagless. I want to get a straight suction cleaner and have looked at the obvious choices of Miele, Dyson and Sebo, but there's something quite appealing about the Aeg designs. Has anyone got one or used one? How do they compare?

The return of the motorised powerhead cylinder vacuums in the UK

This new Vax does indeed look promising. Excellent performance results. Nice to have the opportunity to swap my upright for a bagless cylinder with a PN. I may well get one once the price drops a bit.

    New Miele Eco vacs

Some fairly poor performance ratings on these machines. Very disappointing given that Miele is a premium brand.

    Hose Work

I'm definitely a fan of upright cleaners for general floor cleaning. The brushing action is great for pet hair and they're much quicker and easier than a cylinder (no dragging along behind getting stuck on door frames etc). However, I hate using the hose on uprights. Continually fighting the...

    New old vacuums

Oh. Such a shame that it all got a bit unpleasant. Bidders should know their financial limits and stick to them. It's so unfair to mess the seller around. I hope it doesn't shop her from listing further items.

    New old vacuums

I was watching all the excitement around these auctions and thought I would check in this morning to see how it all went. However, I couldn't find the threads. Seems they've been deleted! What happened?

    Direct Vacuums

Has anyone used this ebay seller of graded vacuums? If so, what's your opinion regarding the product purchased and the levle of service?

    New EU Regs

Does anyone know whether the new EU regs for vacuum cleaners due this year apply to vacuum sold from 1st September or manufactured from 1st September?

    Expert advice needed.

I too have used two X1.1's in the past and have not been particularly impressed. Suction power fairly average and ease of use dependant on it's use in relation to the direction of the carpet pile. One of the above was brought as a replacement for a DC04 in an office setting. Over time...

EU Reducing Energy on Vacuums Update

Interesting to note that the air watts rating for the 1200w Greenray Purepower is 290. Exactly the same as the 2100w versions! High wattage motors totally un-necessary.

    Turbo Brushes

Can anyone recommend an effective turbo brush (floor tool)for pet hair? Most seem to pretty much stop turning when they touch the floor on all but very thin carpet.
