    Kirby Vacuums w/ Mid-Year Changes

If you go way back, the Model C had two complete versions. One with headlight, and one without.

That looks like a genuine motor to me.

    Electolux G non electric hose

Straight suction = non electric. If your G hose leaks, then you are missing a lot of power. You might use it more if it had a good hose. I should be getting my blue Model G on Monday. That's going to be fun, and I will post restoration pictures.

    Electolux G non electric hose

All straight suction hoses will fit. Electric hoses with pigtail connectors on the machine end will also fit. So, the first two hoses in that section, which are genuine, will work. The last two in that section that are generic will also work. The genuine electric hose has a pigtail on the...

    Well The Unfortunate has Happened

Why not just replace the bearing again? Its not too hard.

help needed with my model L electrolux (pics)

I'm wondering if it has a real lux motor or an aftermarket unit, like an Lamb motor. I think that would be easier than having the original modified.

    Need some info please!

I think thats an early version of the Oreck 4000. I think the later ones had the CVR dropped from the name. I have a spare NOS bag sitting around for one, but don't own one myself. The bag I have is says XL4000, and is of the newer (but still old) grey with little holes in it.

1937 Electrolux Model 30 on eBay

Interesting find! Speaking of model 30s, whats the deal with the early Lux carpet tools? I'm wondering about the evolution of these things. I've seen probably more than a half dozen types prior to the 1954 flip over tool. Some seem to be out of order, like the one shown here which has no ridges...

    New Electrolux model

Thanks for the pictures. I'm disappointed! Really, this cleaner is just a E2000 decendent, with some upgrades. The general design is 25 years old. I believe this is the first time in Lux history that a revised low end model has replaced a high tech high end model. From what I can see we have...

    Elux Gaurdian 75th anniversary edition

Great vacuum! I have the 75th anniversary Ambassador and its a nice machine when you want that Electrolux feeling with real modern power and light weight. I've also experienced the sales demo for the 9000 and it was a very enjoyable machine to use. Do you mind posting a side view of this...

    Latest Addition

What you have is just one of many cleaners of that same style. I'd guess you are close to being correct about the date, but I'm not sure. For anyone that feels the need to get a complete collection of these models you will need the Regency (light blue), Ambassador (various), Ambassador III...

    Holy Crap!

Lucky you. Most people won't give up their Mieles. They have insane resale value. I'd say any modern working Miele under $100 is a steal. Good going!

    vacuum followed me home today!

Although its been a while since I've used a VG3, I do remember it being one of the best designs I have ever used. It does a great job lifting the pile, and like the VGII it has a satisfying brush roll noise. The thing that comes to mind about the Express PN is it sticks to the carpet and can be...

    GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd imagine they made the switch because the Sanitaire just seems all around superior. It looks better(my opinion), cheap parts supply, more models to choose from, and a company that seems more interested in their commercial model line. Just compare web sites and its clear that Sanitare has...

    Daily Drivers

Normally, I'd say my Lux Super J is my daily driver, but recently I've been using a Kenmore canister vacuum. I also discovered / rediscovered the power of the Dirt Devil 08100RT, which does not use the GS electric motor found in most versions. I always thought it was too loud, but I've been...

    1935 kirby

"I dont see how a REAL COLLECTOR could ever sell a machine like that..." I've tried, failed, and won't be trying it again. I tried to sell my Sears Kwick Kleen designed by James Kirby on ebay after I finished restoring it, and it didn't sell. I only wanted half of the selling price of this...

    1935 kirby

Well, I managed to miss that detail. Apparently it's the most expensive handle switch ever.

    1935 kirby

Yeah, I had that in my favorites list to see what it would go for, but never checked back on it. Its a nice looking model c, early version without headlight. Sadly, this is a dream machine of mine, although I prefer the later version. Now, what I was wondering is what the deal is with the...
