I was at the Salvation Army today and in the selections of vacuums they had a Meile White Pearl. 100% complete and like new. I paid $39.00 thinking I would resell it. I am gobsmacked at the job it does on my carpet, it's suction and how quiet it is. All else is gone, I am a raving convert. Pictures to follow.

Lucky you. Most people won't give up their Mieles. They have insane resale value. I'd say any modern working Miele under $100 is a steal. Good going!

In it's Polished Glory

$39.99. I remember the year Consumer Reports gave Meile the highest rating. It was $1,100.

Up yours!

I am very tall and usually I am crouched by the time I finish chasing the vacuum. This handle extends to a full 5 feet, not counting the handle of the power nozzle connector.

What's Your Number?

The power nozzle has a choice of 6 settings. Great for bare floors or thick carpet.

Inside your drawers!

All the attachments are there, the machine is very clean and even the stainless base plate and brush roll gleam

Yours or mine?

It gives you a choice of several power settings or auto. You can hear the motor speed up on carpet or slow down dusting or bare floors.

fantastic find

Fantastic find. This machine is made in 1998 till 2001. Next to the black edition this was the top model. In Holland and Belgium the powernozzle was still an extra option, but in Germany it Came with the deal. Price was back then about 350 euro lets say around 200 us dollars. Verry nice find, but a shame they are so extremely expensive over there.

Draw a line in the dirt!

So, here's the proof in the pudding. This baby lifts and grooms the nap beyyer than my Electolux, Hoover(s), Kenmore, Dirt Devil, Kirby G or Sharp. This will be the only vacuum I'll need for the rest of my life. I am truly amazed at the carpet.

"I am a raving convert."

Agreed. I found a Solaris Electro Plus with a bad cord in a Goodwill store about a month ago. Paid $2, put a cord on it and was stunned by the performance. Went back to the same store a week later, found a complete Flamenco II, also for $2. Works perfectly.

Wonderful machines. As far as canisters are concerned, I've always been partial to Electrolux, but these two Mieles are enough to make me a believer.

Ummm, WOW!

Jeez, tell me which Salvation Army you went to! By the way, which one did you go to? The only one I go to is the one in Renton and I go to the Goodwill and St.Vincents in the Renton Highlands on Sunset Blvd.

I just got two Mieles a couple weeks ago, unfortunately I didn't get them for $39 each, closer to $1,400 for both (ouch). But I love them. :)

Only the Finest Shop Here.

I live in Burien so I have the option to work Salvation Army at 5 corners on a 160th and 1st. Its a personal favorite, run by family and always has the best prices. Most of the furniture I have came from there. I shop the St Vincent DePaul on 136th and 1st but its hit and miss. The Goodwill on 128th and Ambaum is good for peieces is parts. I always find beaters, bowls, lids etc to complete a project I'm working on. The Value Villiage on 156th is a huge rip off. The Creme d'la Creme comes from the Lifelong Thrift Store on Union between 10th and 11th. The "boys donate what ever has lost it's trendy sizzle and often give whole household donations of dowager aunts and mothers.

Easy come Easy go

As the pictures show, this was last months look. It goes in and out faster than a physic through a goose.

One mans trash is anothers treasure...i cant believe how good that btm plate looks..are those the orig brushes on the roller ? man you hit jackpot for sure. i dig the carpet...havent seen that type in many years....nice place you got there....

Carpet

I ordered the carpet from a jobber who works for our company, sight unseen. I told him I wanted frieze in a tweed. This is more like a cultured shag or over the top plush in a warm butterscotch. It feels marvelous when its freshly vacuumed and walking with bare feet. It is just a year old. I had it professionally cleaned several weeks ago and the spots came back. I had the service return and they cleaned it again. I asked the jobber to look at it and he sent his guy to clean it. Each cleaning makes the spots more apparent. I mixed up a kill or cure potion of oxyclean and laundry soap, followed by a white vinegar rinse. Just the same. I asked for the manufacturer name so I could contact the rep and the jobber is hedging. I am planning to take up a corner and look for a manufacturer's marking. You can see some of the spots in the picture. I do a lot of catering and some of it is food dribbles in and out. I also know some of it is the grand kids.

I was shocked when I got my Miele Plus (same hose/handle as yours) at a flea market for 20 bucks 6 or so months ago.... but you certainly hit the motherload! Love the metal plate and brushroll and electronic controls.... you are SOOOOOOOOOO lucky! I went to the Good Will today and they didn't even have a cheap vacuum for me to scoff at!

I have the exact same White Pearl, thanks to a very nice member from this club, and I just love it. Mine also came with a separate wand and floor brush so switching between carpets and bare floors is easy. My only complaint would be how heavy the machine is. I had a Miele Red Star before and its wasn't nearly as heavy as this one. But other than that, LOVE this machine! Congrats on your find, and you sure can't beat the price!!!!!
