1937 Electrolux Model 30 on eBay

Someone should snap this up -- these really old Model 30s hardly ever turn up anymore, and other than being a bit dusty this one is in really nice shape.

Interesting find! Speaking of model 30s, whats the deal with the early Lux carpet tools? I'm wondering about the evolution of these things. I've seen probably more than a half dozen types prior to the 1954 flip over tool. Some seem to be out of order, like the one shown here which has no ridges on top, yet theres a model XII floor tool that does. In later years, after the war, it seems they went back to this style, and then changed it again in the 50s for the LX. Now, the simple floor tool like the one in this auction, seems to have gone through 3 redesigns that I'm aware of, one which is very simple with no bumpers or unnecessary styling except for the logo.

If you start including painted Canadian versions of the late 40s tool it gets really crazy and the number is probably more like 12+. So, what are your findings in this area?

If you look close you will see a tag riveted on top of this cleaner,if im not mistaken, this is a factory rebuild tag.

The "unknown" carpet nozzle in the above picture goes with the elusive model XX. This is what came with my XX, and it also came with a rudimentary floor brush in gray wrinkle finish and a late model 12 style dusting brush with a black rubber bumper.

I love the wartime model XXX carpet tool - never saw that one.

That is the same carpet tool that came with my grandmother's XX and her floor brush was like you said with grey wrinkle paint and the neck did not turn to under furniture.
She always used the fabric tool to clean her carpets and she had a big farm house with 12 rooms.

Thanks guys for the info on the XX rug tool. I had wondered if that might be the case, but it seemed such a peculiar design that I thot it might be non-U.S. I have a XX that came with the same attachments & hose as the early XXX. I have been told that the original XX hose was the same pattern as the XXX but that the criss-crossing was red instead of black and silver. Anyone out there know??

I have never seen any original XX attachments. I am assuming the gray wrinkle-finish on the bare-floor tool is the same paint as on the body of the machine?

I think the XX is a really cool-looking machine. Too bad it was discontinued so suddenly.

Oh, and I should say, the XII early is also the same rug tool that came with the XI.

Yes, I think the model XX is a really cool looking machine as well. We can only speculate as to why it was discontinued when it was. It looks slightly more utilitarian than the XXX. Perhaps it was a wartime only model? Thank you for posting the complete line of Electrolux floor tools. Turns out, when I got my model XII it came with a model V (late) floor tool! There were also parts scattered in from a Eureka Roto-Matic model 910. For some odd reason, my father let me buy the pair of Lux XII's, but not the 910. Course, that was almost 20 years ago.

Agreed, they used the same nozzle from model XII (I think, definatly the model XI had a fixed nozzle) on all models here right through till late Lux 55 (so 1955/56) where it changed to a different style metal one - not the same as that on the 62 though, which was plastic
