    Hoover Concept Transmission

grooms better than kirby or royal?? you must be using soft/worn single row brush rolls. i found one many moons ago- cool machine, just ultra-stupid heavy. i do remember it shifting very quickly. maybe mine was bad too? i tossed it because it had cracked brush housing, little did i know i could...

Vintage plastic & rubber vacuum parts

there is really not much you can do at all. pure silicone oil (found at a hobby shop for R/c shocks) might help avoid further drying. once rubber is brittle its already started to rot away and there is no way to reverse that.

I have some new kirby news to share!- exciting!

the problem with kirby being sold in a store (especially not a vac store) is that salesman have very little to work with, they cant inflate the price and they cant deep discount since they would be widely availible and price would almost be set in stone. factory rebuilds is fine with me being...

    LG Kompressor

i dont like bagless vacs, but i even think its pretty cool, compressing dirt is inherit of most direct air vacs, but im almost positve this one isnt. for the right price its worth a shot.

    Kirby bag washing

the two omegas i got where smelly as a dead dog's fart. i tossed them in the washing machine with two times the detergent then let them dry out in the sun. best way to avoid smells ive found is avoid picking up moist food replacing bags if you smell anything (even if its not full) and keeping...

Royal wide path or kirby generation?

i work for a vac shop and i still dont know! i have owned a regular 8.7 amp 12" royal and it worked well, it had a worn brush from day one. ive always wanted a 18" model but i would have to make a franken vac to get one (unless one of you folks have one to sell) i WOULD buy all three but A- i...

Royal wide path or kirby generation?

i have a standard size dump cup sanitair commercial and am suprized how it pulls up the nap (single row vibra-groomer) as twocvbloke mentioned his opinion. it would be a interesting machine to have, im sure the vibra-groomer would be crazy loud on this one. still undecided, i know a 10amp royal...

Ok, i need a paper bagged vac, i have a kirby omega that i love, but its driving my father and brother's alergies crazy. so it gives me a reason to buy another vac! anyhow i want a wide-path 18" royal or a self propelled kirby, they are simmilar machines but im trying to figure out what...

    Sanitaire clamping effect... or not

deal with the sanitiares is the belts will last a few months if it doesnt get overheated, setting too close even for one room will stretch the belt and will be useless in a couple weeks.

    Should i bother? GE find

i can get my hands on a OLD GE upright vac, all aluminum small roundish motor housing (visible brush caps!), thin black wheels, black GE symbol on the royal style nossle. the rubber (bakelite) handle is snapped and it has no bag but is this vac even worth my time?

How to get rid of age spots?

as someone who polishes brass blades for antique fans, i've learned a thing or two about polishing. first take it to a benchtop buffer with some mass cleaner (or brasso) and buff the hell out of it, if you still see spots what you can then do is take VERY fine sandpaper, and sand it all out...

Hi, this is my first post, im looking foward to discussing with all of you. im trained as a auto mechanic but just got a job at a vac shop.
