    Air-Way......The Death Knell Has Sounded.........

Kirby is a very strong & old company, being owned by Scott & Fetzer for over 80 years alone. They will be around long after we are gone. On Friday, I was given free of charge by the local Kirby Service Center, a very nice booklet called The Kirby Story. If I had a scanner, I would post it to...

    Some Hoover Vault Finds...

Rebranding for Sears (mostly) also occured with Toys. From 1950 to 1955 Sears sold Marx Trains & Playsets under the name of "Happi-Time" and from 1956 to 1969 under the name "Allstate". After 1969 they were just branded as "Sears". The "Happi-Time" brand sold by Sears had the exact Marx train...

    Kenmore/Eureka?!?!

Wards is still in business (online) and sells a variety of "throw away" machines from Eureka, Hoover, Oreck and a few odd brands I never heard of. Click the link to go to the vacuum cleaner page. Ray http://www.wards.com/wards/page2All.asp?pid=305

Vacuum Cleaners on Good Morning America!

Looks like the ABC blog is now contaminated with the same Dyson hype as the AOL blog.

Vacuum Cleaners rated on AOL Blog

I just don't know how ANYONE could be dumb enough to spend 100's of dollars on a cheaply made plastic throw away whether it's Dyson, Oreck, Riccar, Hoover & Eureka. The throw aways probably don't cost them no more than $25 to manufacture and should not be sold for no more than $50. Imagine the...

Vacuum Cleaners rated on AOL Blog

Geez, I read 3 pages which mostly consisted on positive Dyson testimonials. These posters were most likely "paid" to post their comments to add to the hype. Someone truly reseaching machines should read this dealers guides. The Kirby or Dyson link is below. He has several others...

    Decisions, Decisions - Help guys!

In my opinion, any of the self propelled models from G3 thru Sentria are fine regardless of the production date. The G3's did have problems with the on/off switch, handle pivot spring and the transmission. All G3 replacement parts are now same as Sentria with the exception of the color. The...

    Kirby Rebuild Program

Thanks for your reply Alex. Last week I tried for several hours off and on calling the rebuild dept on a non toll free # only to receive an answering machine. I then called the main toll free # and asked the operator if anyone was in the rebuild dept., his reply was that the rebuild dept. was...

    Parts, I need Parts!!!

I done a lot of business with Star for Parts back in the 80's when I was rebuilding machines and selling out of my parents house. I never had a problem with them, just found that Hesco pricing was better and quicker delivery, always next day to Las Vegas from their Phoenix warehouse.

    Kirby Rebuild Program

Can anyone tell me the details on the Kirby Rebuild Program. 1) Do they actually require the original proof of purchase on 50 year old machines? 2) Are they rebuilt using same trim color, etc. as originally manufactured with? I've seen threads with photos of the D80 and another with the...

    Parts, I need Parts!!!

Hi, Try Hesco. When I used to rebuild Kirbys a long time ago, they were good to deal with. At the time, I found their prices to be better than Star for Parts. I would recommend ordering their catalog. The link is below. http://www.hescoinc.com/catalog_request.html Thanks, Ray...
