    my attempts at saving water

Greenpeace actually ... ... doesn't even save the whales. Greenpeace is posing and marketing the illusion of saving the planet. They have an army of gullible volunteers and paid canvassers who have been talked into believing that Greenpeace is really saving the environment and saving whales...

It takes a while ... ... to brainwash multiple generations of people on an ENTIRE planet.

Does this ever happen to anybody???

Nick ... ... what Rob just said. Don't take it personally. There are just some adults in this world who do not consider under-agers worth their time. $30 in bags is one thing. A $2,000 vacuum is quite another. And a customer satisfied with her $2,000 machine who will bring OTHER adults...

    my attempts at saving water

My point is ... ... "eco savings" are largely BS. It's a global movement imposed by the economic elite. And an unsuspecting and well-intentioned public is eating it up, hook, line, and sinker: http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/22647

    my attempts at saving water

Nar... "You seem to have an answer for everything." It's not easy being right all the time, trust me! Look, I'm not trying to make this a US vs UK thing. I believe that most of the good ideas have come from the US, as well as most of the BAD ideas. But this is mostly because of our sheer...

    my attempts at saving water

I think ... ... rather than a bigger push for recycling, we as a society should be doing more to prevent waste in the first place. Today's blasted "compact fluorescent" light bulbs now come in THREE LAYERS of hard-shell plastic (the WORST for the environment). AND they need special care and...

    my attempts at saving water

I live in New York ... ... if they didn't collect recycling NO ONE would do it. Especially since the vast majority of New Yorkers don't own vehicles in which to tow refuse to recycling plants.

    my attempts at saving water

Chris ... ... based on my experience with BOTH types of machines, the low-water machines suck.

    my attempts at saving water

I don't think ... ... that washing things PROPERLY is "wasting" water. And keep in mind, we live in a closed ecosystem. Water never "goes" anywhere. It's recycled into the ecosystem.

    my attempts at saving water

Sorry Chris ... ... but I think that these "water saving" appliances are total bullshit. You need WATER to get things clean. Common sense tells you that if you use less water, they will be less clean. When I outfit my new home, I'll be looking to install three VINTAGE, restored washing...

    KIRBY VS. DYSON

It really is true! Remember the movie "The Devil Wears Prada"? Meryl Streep dressed down that dumpy girl, essentially telling her the entire world was wearing clothes that were decided on by those five people in her office. SO. VERY. TRUE.

    KIRBY VS. DYSON

Gareth ... Totally agree with you on the big box stores. BUT ... stores like Walmart DO have an agenda. Walmart is SO big that they can (and do) dictate what the consumers will buy, rather than the other way around. Case in point are books. We are now at the point where if Walmart doesn't...

    KIRBY VS. DYSON

Gareth ... "If consumers wanted a Hoover convertible trust me Hoover would be making it." Not necessarily. Once companies become big enough, what the consumer *wants* comes secondary to how much they can sell before customers simply stop buying it. And if the competition is doing the same...

UK Halloween Meet - The Cleaners

WHY ... ... were the British Hoovers so different than the American Hoovers? It's the same company. Why not make the same identical sweepers?

A positive to come out of the royal baby birth

Well ... "Another thing to do - either every time you change your bedding or flip the mattress - is to vacuum the mattress. Just get a Hoover upholstery tool, fire up that Senior (Convertible) and vacuum out all those bed bugs etc... Of course, you need a fresh bag to do this as that is the...

Agressive Agitation may be hurting your carpet.

Scrape and dump ... "People used to complain about the dust on the older Scrape and dump Kirby bags. If you empty after every use, place a newspaper under the machine and use the sani-pocket, the process can be accomplished with very little dust escaping." When I was a child, my grandma had...

Agressive Agitation may be hurting your carpet.

And also ... "All those bagless vacuums boast "HEPA filtration" and "British Alergy Seal of Approval", but where is your HEPA filtration when you empty it and the dust goes flying into your face and up your nostrils?" EXACTLY! It would be just like a car seat belt that only disengages when...

Agressive Agitation may be hurting your carpet.

I'm sorry to belabor the point, BUT ... ... "For bagless and FQ type dump bin vacuums-why is it some folks want to dump them INSIDE their homes? After you and the vacuum have worked so hard to pick up the dirt-would you truely want to get rid of the dirt OUTSIDE?That is why when I have used such...
