    Eureka 1934b Discontinued

This was sad to find. I briefly owned a 1934a, and it was a great machine for how inexpensively you could buy one new. Where else could you find an upright with a beater bar for ~$100? Truly an end of an era http://https//www.eureka.com/p/the-boss-1934b

    Interesting eBay Store

I found this store tonight that seems to sell only early to mid 2000s uprights. There are so many Kenmores it feels like walking back into time to a Sears display. As someone who grew up carefully examining these models at Sears, it brought back some memories to see these pictures all lined up...

    Hoover Dehumidifier (70s?)

This caught my eye on eBay tonight. I always enjoy learning about Hoover history, but I've never heard of a Hoover dehumidifier. Does anyone know the story behind this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Hoover-Dehumidifier-Hoover-Vacuum-Company-/162586307255?hash=item25dae62ab7:g:C70AAOSwQ59ZY9fL

    Is this really for sale?

I remember lusting over Hoovers on that site years ago. It's amazing that they might actually have those models in stock! Quick question: What type of box did your Eureka come in? Was it the original factory box? If so, could you take a picture for us? I've always found the boxes almost as...

    Hoover Guardsman Bagged - Discontinued?

That is Great News! Very happy to hear that. Does anyone know where they will be built? Regardless, an American made Hoover Convertible sounds great. I'll be ready to place an order when they arrive on the market.

    Hoover Guardsman Bagged - Discontinued?

Hi everyone. I've been out of the collecting game for awhile, primarily due to lack of room and funds, so forgive me if this topic has been covered already. Out of curiosity, I checked to see what see what a new Hoover Guardsman would cost. To my surprise, I could not find the bagged version...

    Hoover Guardsman and Conquest Discontinued?

I was cruising through some vacuum retailer sites, and I noticed the Guardsman and Conquest are completely out of stock. Amazon, Home Depot, Hoover.com: it's all gone. What's up TTI? Does anyone know if these lines are completely out of production?

Hoover Model 115 - Santa Ana, California Goodwill

I found this listing online and figured it was worth posting here. The bag looks original and you can't beat the price. I'd buy it for my own collection, alas, it's pick-up only and I'm out here in Northern Arizona. Any Southern California collectors out there who want to save it...

Advice on cleaning a sticky kitchen floor?

Pick up some circus degreaser rated for kitchen use. Home Depot has a nice product from Zep that works incredibly well on my tile floors. If you put it in a spray bottle and dilute it with vinegar, a light mist of it will break up a great deal of dirt with light scrubbing. A final rinse/mop with...

    Riccar 2400 Canister - Whirlpool?

This eBay listing recently caught my eye. I've never seen or even heard of this model before. It canister body looks awfully like a Whirlpool/Kenmore machine of the early 90s, as does the brush roll and hose. I wonder how well these sold, as you could easily pick up a similar product at Sears...

    Vacuuming questions

Great Questions! 1. I generally start the vacuum after it's reclined. I try to minimize the amount of noise; it's usually quieter when the brush is in contact with the carpet. 2.It depends on the vacuum. With canisters, it may have to switch plugs two or three times downstairs alone. With...

Anybody Remember The Zenith Trans-Oceanic Radio?

Is that a shortwave radio? My grandfather was a nightly listener to over-sea stations for many years before the internet provided greater sources. I always found it fascinating that we could sit in a little bedroom and receive signals from the English BBC and stations all the way across the...

    Oreck Axis $300 Off-Splurge?

Oreck's eBay store is offering brand new Axis uprights for $99 with free shipping. Considering the previous retail price of these and the Pilot predecessor, I think this is an amazing deal. I imagine TTI is trying to liquidate some inventory, but I could be totally off-base. Is this model worth...

Audi seem to have saved motoring, for real.

Wow, that is impressive. I imagine if they can perfect and mass-produce "e-diesel", this could be an incredibly popular alternative to regular fossil fuels. Both oil and automotive companies are very resistant to move towards battery-electrics since the cars are basically self-sufficient...

    Got a new Floormate!

Floormates are such great cleaners. The SpinScrub brushes are fantastic at removing layers of dirt yet are equally gentle. They seem to last awhile too. Let us know how you like it! Hoover has such a long history of hard-floor cleaners, but I've never had the opportunity to compare past machines.

    My Extensive Collection Part 9

The Prima looks like a great American competitor to the Miele lineup. From the side it looks very similar to a S8. How much dirt do you think the bag can hold? Outside it looks huge, but it's hard to tell from the picture when it's installed. This might be a silly question, but is the canister...

    UGGHHHH Ebay purchase

File a claim with eBay against the seller, as you obviously received an item that was not as described. I would demand a full refund; don't accept an offer if they ask you to return it. Taking pictures of the damage will help. It's very easy to escalate the claim to an eBay representative, which...

Finally preparing the Vacuum "gallery". Care to see some HOOVERS?

Yes Please! I'd love to see some group shots. Not everyone has such a diverse collection of Hoovers. Anything Hoover will do.  I can only imagine what they would look like together. Please keep us updated.
