SORRY! but I meant before TTI aquired Hoover. I guess Ridgid makes tools & shop vacs 4 Craftsman. It just 'burns' me when someone steals another's ideas or designs; its happened 2 me before.

Gonna clean the vac & tools later. I disagree that the vintage FQ filter cones are thicker than today's; the cones from then wre THINNER than the cones of today. Unfortunalty the vintage cone is used & I can't save it.

why did Vax UK steal Hoover USA design? That's crazy 4 some dumbass 2 steal someone else's design (like Ridgid & Craftsman with their shop vacs) But that shampooer is nice in red trim just like our Hoover in green.

Lux 1205 my Mother's favorite vac! Easier 2 use vs. anything of today.

Several yrs back I bought a chrome dome Rainbow (w/o PN) & even with a strait suction rug nozzle it outcleaned every vac I had at that time (even the Tristar w/VGII) Had 2 empty the basin after EACH room cleaned with the Rainbow. Then went over again with the Rainbow but used a Lux PN; still...

camelotshadow Your machine didn't have shampoo tank like mine does, with yours U can just wet the rug with 8:1 diluted shampoo (1 part "foam-type" shampoo) & 8 parts WARM water by spraying with a spray bottle or mopping it in w/o scrubbing it in with mop (let the machine do the hard work)

Lux shampooer Mine's from late 1960s-early 1970s; my parents bought it new c. 1970, just a bit different from yours. Maybe you're using the wrong brushes? Black brushes are 4 shampooing rugs & the tan brushs are 4 scrubing hard floors & waxing/polishing pads. Did U make sure the brushes snaped...
