what a shame on today's Hoover I wish today's Hoovers had the same quality as these vintage ones. I hope someone has the dies & molds that were used to make these vacs.

Things aren't like they used to be maybe I'll buy a Floor Mate so I don't have to put my Floor-A-Matic (FAM) thru so much stress. I wish Hoover still made the FloorMAX (esp. the one that vacuums dirty water) but with TTI "controlling" Hoover USA its unlikely they'll bring back the FAM.

How can a Floor Washer scrub floor w/o a rotating brush? Does it have a "vibrating" brush like the Rug Doctor? I've never used or seen one (in real life but I've seen them on ads & this site) maybe more durable than the Floor Mate of today.

Which is better? I like the FloorMAX for its scrubbing power & I like the Floor Mate (early style) for its low profile head; but I'm not sure if a Floor Mate is worth the $ or not.

I'm not refering to my new XXX Ultra Power (Hoover Savvy style) but the Regina Housekeeper/Electrolux Discovery style that I bought yrs back. The Hoover Savvy style Ultra Power (or DuoPower) is a nice vac; has more suction than the Windtunnel.

I got one 4 my parents before moving out (they won't let me take it) but I have a U3101 Concept (NOT SELLING IT!)
