Virden has nothing to do with kirby other than the parent company. virden lighting was a luxury lighting band in the 1940's- 70's. while intersting in relation, unless a kirby collector was also into mid century modern lighting, they likely would care less.

kirby made the 4 row 13" brushroll NLA in 2013. any vacuum dealers that had old stock have long since sold them in a frenzy on ebay after they were discontinuted. thats when i managed to get mine. those are are rare to find as janitronic brushrolls.

i saw a u4085 bicentenntial convertible (wasnt even NIB, but just in the box) sell for $5600 in 2018. unfortunately there are a few rich closet collectors who take all the nice toys.

kenny i had a problem like that with my brand new GE u-1 brushroll from marc turbyfill. thats why it was so rattly at the convention. the wood core is physically not straight. so i think it can be a defect in the manufacturing or where it's stored could play a roll too.
