the meal to be served at my house will all be home made. I'm proud to say that, and, am glad to be able to do it.


  It can't always be done, I understand.

It's a week today.

Joe will also be a big help all next week.

We might have to pick up another special little thing.  You'll all see it if it happens.  This thing will be well documented, as are all of the conventions.

I'll be able t oget to the hotel early and get a lot tak

care of. Sale items of mine (some were never part of my actual collection),  multiples, etc.  Nice signage is ready as well.  Hoping to always streamline things.

Directions, lists of local sights,

and some local history are printed.


  I'm also organizing Hoover paperwork.  Such as lots of pics of old Hoover prototypes.  Of course, they have been printed on the forum before.... the Constellation w/ switch on the handle,  Convertible tools, Handisac, and the Convertible itself.


 


None of it is new. I got all of my copies in North Canton, from Tom Anderson.

For the record,,

those pics originally came from Tom Anderson.  He is the one who "procured" them straight from the N. Canton books. I got them from Tom.  Others obtained them from previous postings.


  Tom was the very first to have them, as, it was he who located them from the printings in the first place.


 Just giving clarity.

Paperwork.

Will you have the original Newsletters, especially the one of the Hoover factory tour in May of 1994? That was an awesome weekend, despite bad press by a reporter who didn't like us.

And, there are tons of past newsletters.  I even have all of mine.  I even have the one printed the year before I joined.  There's a lot of interesting  info there. But,  some of it is quite sensitive, as it goes into detail about some members who can no longer be members.  I won't open that up.  It's in the past. But, nonetheless, it's there.It's neither my place, nor my interest to give attention to hurtful events.


  To quote "Baby Jane Hudson,  "I only want to think of the nice things".

I was asked by Joe Kassock to please make some

yep, pepper cookies for his cousins who are going back home Monday.  I'll make more right before the convention.  They and the other desserts will be fresh and moist, as usual.


  Keeping "vintage",  I'll go through the kitchen later w/ a nice handivac.


 I'll use the Convertible (with attachments) in the livingrooms later.

They've cooled

All 6 and a  half dozen. It's time to frost them now.  They'll be ready to give to Joe's cousin after pizza tonight.


  I know.  What kind of Friday would it be w/o a silly, nonsensical bash?


 


  Well, count me out.  To quote "Love, Valor, and Compassion",   "This is tired, Ramone".


  But........ hey......


 


 


the desserts at the convention will be:  fresh fruit salad with a home made glaze, Toll House and Pepper cookies, and, my great -aunt's killer chocolate cake.  It should be nice. 10X sugar is already super sifted,  pineapples are strained.........

Joe's family just left with

 a few dozen cookies and some iced tea.  I whipped up the tea earlier. Both were exceptionally good this time.


 


 They saw the front living room  lined up with Convertibles, etc.  They are ready for display and some will be sold.


 Then, they gasped (in a good way) at the Hoover lined staircase.  They seemed impressed.


  Nice people.

of us now.  For some, it's their first convention.


 Sadly,  a few great members are unable to attend this time.


  But................


  preparations are going along. The Hoover banners, made for the Hoover Co are being hung (with care) in hopes that all members see Hoovers  everywhere.


 


  Also,  time to give the cellar dwellers a little rub in preparation for the to go out in the world.


 There's a Lux anniversary polisher, an Oreck portable, a Bissel carpet sweeper, a Westinghouse upright, and 2 Kirbys.


 


  To quote Dr. Hannibal, "Fly , fly now..."

Here are just a few: linens made just for the 'palace', a Convertible and a Coffee can (from the late Terry), the 1st and last Convertible, a few 'Larks', floor washers,  a few doubles, (there are triples, quads, etc), and a nice "array" on the stairs, oh my !!

Who wouldn't take advantage of displaying on steps like

these?  This staircase was ruined in 1942.  It's been completely restored. The banister is 24 feet of mahogany (half was buried in a wall for decades), 15 wide steps.  (I sound like my old real estate days). So,  yep... it's the first thing one sees upon entering.


  Am I proud of my restoration? Sure am.  Is it a great photo op for vacuums?  Sure is. I could post pics indefinitely.


 


Perhaps I will.
