I also have dust allergies, however I have been able to discontinue Zyrtec since owning my Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition. I'm not sure how your unit is leaking fine dust, mine obviously does not. No headaches, no sneezing, no coughing, no watery eyes, no allergy issues at all...
Wax warmer scents
Nope, you can use any wax scent tabs you find and like. I would be a bit choosy, because some wax scent tabs will be dramatically stronger than others. Trust your nose!
The cleanup is usually pretty easy. Once the wax has melted mostly away, you can wipe it out with a...
My mom loves these scent wax warmers
She has them all over her house, and yes, they do emit a very fragrant and all-encompassing scent. I'm sure the pumpkin one smells delicious. Enjoy and please take and share a pic when you set it up in your home! That's a very nice warmer.
Incidentally...
I did not know him, was not a friend or family
I am very saddened at the loss of someone so important to our community of vacuum collectors. My deepest condolences to all his friends and family.
If there are any vintage Kirby units left after friends and family have claimed their stakes, I...
Kirby box?
Is that Kenmore tank in a Kirby box? That looks like a Kirby box, and in it, it looks like the back of a 500 series Kirby carpet nozzle and crevice tool. Pretty awesome, would love to snatch that if I could...
Removing plastic bag topper
I know how to disconnect the Emptor, disconnect the fill tube, and remove the outer bag from the upright handle via the clip.
My question is actually, how do you remove the top plastic outer bag topper? Later Generation models just slip over the square plastic...
Probably not
Although I don't know 100% for sure. The Kirby attachments are twist-pressure mounted. The Shark hose doesn't have that twist-pressure pattern on its end, and it has a plastic tab which protrudes and helps you align the Shark hard floor nozzle. Methinks this would get in the way...
OK... so my bestie and I were fixing up a Heritage II he got for me yesterday, and we decided to launder the bag. Since we were laundering the Heritage II bag, he decided he wanted to launder his Generation 3 bag with it. However, we could not figure out how to disconnect the hanging part...
Beautiful Tradition!
I'm SO tempted, however, I'm quickly running out of room in my apartment and a friend just bought me a Heritage II. I've never been a fan of 2nd generation Kirby, so now that I have my Heritage and Heritage II, I have more 2nd generation than I need. LOL
Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition
I've owned mine for almost a year now, and this vacuum has completely changed my life for the better. I no longer have to use Zyrtec daily to be able to breathe, despite having moved to the most rural, dusty, polleny area I've ever lived in. I love that I can...
School bread
OMG yes! My high school had the BEST rolls and bread. My grandma actually used to work in the kitchen, and they supplied lunches to most of the schools in my hometown (there are over 40 schools in the district). They used the same bread recipe to make rolls, wiener wraps (hot...
I've often considered making this mistake...
So glad I didn't! It always bugged me when I was polishing a fan case, that I couldn't get completely around the nozzle latch. This has bugged me in both vintage and contemporary Kirby units. Glad I didn't take it off and just worked around it...
Wow, awesome haul!
I really wish I could find a treasure such as this! Wow, TWO Kirby Classic II units, original hose, accessories, even the original box! Some of the accessories look a little rough, but what do ya want for free?!
Awesome videos, Mike!
Thank you for posting! This is not only an awesome tutorial, but a great back-story as well. I'm sure Walker was sooooo stoked to get his renewed 509!
Re-using HEPA bags
I can't imagine that would go well. The fibers on those bags are woven pretty tight, I can't imagine actually removing all the dirt from them in a washing. I'd easier see the dirt turning to mud and getting stuck in the pores of the bag. Also, what would happen to the...
I can't believe I forgot to share this with you all! I did post on Facebook, but not here.
So I finally used my KitchenAid Mixer to make white bread. It came out amazingly! Light and yummy, it's almost gone in 3 days and just two hungry mouths! I used it to make sandwiches, French...
