Three months ago I got zapped by my Kirby 519, I originally I though it was the field so I ordered a new field. When I opened up the motor I found out it was a cut headlight wire so I put on heat shrink on the cut wires and rerouted them and installed the new field and I was going to replace the...

You have a very nice eureka!!!! I like how the bag was modified, with having a bigger opening and a ridged bag tube the suction is much better.

I am so excited that I found a replacement emptor for my 2C Kirby. I am still going to get the old one fixed and use it as a backup. I just happen to pop in to my local kirby dealer on Saturday just for kicks to ask if they would have a emptor I though they would laugh and say no but they said...

I wish you great luck, it took me a long time to find my 2C. You'll eventually find one.

I got bad news today. They have discontinued the emptor and if they rebuild it they would not fix it. It's $350.00 to rebuild the vacuum. I'm bummed out again but it's nice to know they have everything else for the vacuum.

I called kirby this morning and now I'm on a waiting list for a new emptor they said it's going to be a couple of weeks because they are out of stock. I'm still going to get the old one fixed but I'm going to use the new one.

That is A beautiful 2C it's amazing that's it is over 70 years old and it's running and in great shape. I just got mine and I broke my emptor in less than 10 hrs trying to get it off.

Here is the vacuum with its new bag and wheels, I know that's not the right year of bag but it's a start. The culprit to my heart ache is the sleeve insert, I do not know if it supposed to be in there I tried using a 510 emptor but it's too big.

Thanks I'll try that. When it got rebuilt someone put in a extension tube and a hard gasket, it was on too tight from the start. I'll have pics of it tonight.

I turned the emptor into a show piece because a chunk of aluminum broke off when I was replacing the wheels

I love antique Kirby's your 511 looks great. usually when I find stuff I lost I think I'm going crazy because of the odd places I find them at in the way future.

That eBay seller always has great odd vacuums and parts for sale, I bought an old vintage Kenmore upright from them and it was great.

I was so excited today when I got home because my Kirby 2C was in a box waiting for me. First thing in the morning I'm going to change the wheels and bag and I'm hoping I'll eventually find the original handle and headlight bumper. I'm going to have more pictures to come.

WOW THAT LOOKS GREAT!!! To me the color looks spot on you did a great job, that is a good year for the Eureka uprights. I have a 1968 the same color but with a head light, when I use to use it on a daily basis I upgraded it to a ST bag setup.

I wanted a domel but it was just a smeidge too tall so I had to use a two stage Amateke.
