Good Grief, what's next? Cardboard Cars? Is this a real product, or just some design school student's project? I can't see a vacuum company making a cardboard vacuum, they won't last a year.

I have a somewhat newer SCPD7 with a two pin pig-tail for the hose/power nozzle. It's a very powerful machine, a great deep cleaner and grooms the carpet very nicely. You can use the Kenmore 50557 HEPA bags if you need better filtration. Don't use the thick cottony filter that is often found...
Having worked for an Oreck dealer I would vote for the Pilot. It is pretty much the same as the XL21 which I love. It's a good cleaning machine, grooms the carpet nicely and has a very good filtering bag.

There are several vacuums that I would love to have, if money were no object.
The Kirby Sentria(I'd wait for the next model, but I must say that I don't like the pictures of the so called Avalir. It looks hard to use and of lower quality).
The Filter Queen, I sold those for a week and love them...
I won't use a cord that is damaged. I don't even like to use them if the plug end has been replaced with one of those cheep replacements. I try to get a new or newer cord that matches the old one or at least is fairly close. If I can't find one that's close then I put on what I CAN get and use...
I'm very fond of my 1205. It's a good vacuum, I love the color... blue is my favorite color. I don't have a PN-1, so I have been using a PN-5. I replaced the chewed-up hose with the new bojack hose with the PN switch under the handle grip. I'd like to get a mini nozzle for cleaning the furniture...
Well, assuming I already got the cat out... then I'd save my Kirby GSix and the red Fairfax.
But...but, what about the Kirbys D50, 561, Legend II and Tradition???
Or... the Lux 1205, the Rainbow D3 or the Koblenz 530???
too many to choose from...

I'm living in a spare room at my mom's for a while, so all of my vacuums are in storage. However, I did get my Electro Hygene 903 out of storage and have been using it two to three times a week. I just needed to have one of my collection near me... don't know why, it just made me feel better. It...
filterqueenman,
I am also in the Salt Lake Valley. There are two or three Rainbow dealers in the area and you should be able to find service work rather easily. On 2100 south and West Temple is the Oreck Clean Home Store, they also sell the Meile. I don't know very much about Meile, but you...
I have been using my Electro-Hygene 903. It's got enough power, having a 4.5 amp motor and uses Type B micro filtration bag. I replaced the outer bag from a Royal donner vac with a shot motor.

Mine is the D50. I have three. One is trimmed in "Classic" brown and has a Classic handle. I have put a genuine Kirby 'open-top' bag onto a Heritage II Mini-Emtor and use the cloth-like HEPA bags. It is a wonderful vacuum and does a great job.

I love that Super Sweep by Kirby. There is one at a local Kirby office. I'd buy it, but the guy wants $300 for it. I am waiting for him to come to his senses... that might be a while.

Finally, something I ACTUALLY know...
The short answer is no. Until the mid to late 20's ocean liners did not carry their own vacuum cleaners. Between sailings out of their home ports cleaning crews would be sent onboard to, among other things, vacuum rugs and upholstery. Most of the vacuums...
I'd bet that the seller was the 'winning' bidder. That happens when a seller thinks that the bids he or she is getting for their item is too low. They might have two eBay accounts and bid against themselves in hopes that other people who are interested in that item will loose all sense and try...
Yes...
Yes, there are a few New, In-Box Kirbys to be found. They sometimes turn up on eBay, but are rare and sell for a small fortune. I'd love to find a Legend II New, In-Box... but, I doubt I could afford it if I did find one.

Maybe you should rebuild the ProLux and ADD a smallish canister for all of the above-floor cleaning. I like the small Eureka/Sanitaire canister(Mighty Mite?), it has good suction and lasts fairly well.
In my church we use Windsor uprights for the chapel and class rooms, NSS "Pig" for above-floor...
Have you thought about buying a Classic III bag, they are rather thick AND the red would look good on your 513 if it is already trimmed in red.
Just a thought.

I like your collection, it looks great. When I worked for the local Oreck franchise we took in a Fantom Lightning on trade (I think it was traded in on an XL21), after the required three days return period I was told to toss it in the trash... it went into the back of my car instead. It was...
