What brand of vac, is a true hepa filter.

To Hooverman101... To Hooverman101: Since you say that a canister would be your first choice for your home I would suggest that you find a Tri Star. The older CXL or DXL models are, I feel, better made and better performers. But, the newer EXLs are still good vacuums. Use the micro filtration...

    Lost my love for Kirby...

I understand. After my heart problems I sometimes don't have enough energy to clean house with my GSix. Especially, if I have to put the hose on and clean-up cat hair off ... well, every surface in the house. But, then again, on those days the Lux 1205, Fairfax and Oreck 9200 are not much...

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

Wow, I think I'd rather have the Aura RoboClean over the new Rainbow. That demo looks great. Very nice editing. Justin

kirby running a little hot and apears to not be running as fast as it should

Try running it with the belt off. If it works fine with the belt off then it's time for a new brush roller and belt. If it is still running slow it might be time for new bearings. Justin

    Will this work?

Yes, it is a genuine Kirby bag. However, it is green and intended for the D80. The D50 bag is tan with dark brown Kirby logos. I know I have seen them on eBay, try searching 'Kirby Sanitronic' and see what comes up. Justin

    Shop Vac with Power Nossle

For a long time I have wanted to connect an older Kirby(say a D80) to a Filter Queen. If I do I will post pictures and maybe a video too. Justin

    Rainbow D2 . . .

YES!!! Yes, I have an adaptor for my 'Gold D'. I know I found it at an online vac shop, but I can't remember which one. I will try to find it and if I do I will post the address on it. I think is was like $15 or $20. Justin

A personal review of the KIrby G4 80th anniversary edition

I know from experience that some Kirby dealers did sell the Zip Brush WITH the G4 and NOT as an add-on. The dealer I worked for in the late '90's did that. I always thought that was fair. When I would 'check-in' the new vacuums as they were delivered I added the Zip Brushes to the box as I...

    Aerus Vacuums

I have a question about deep cleaning. I own a 1205, I love it... but, it's not a deep cleaner. Are later models better? Of those who LIKE Electrolux/Aerus vacuums, which models are more powerful and will deep clean carpets? Thanks Justin

need kirby d80 parts for a rebuild to origional

As far as I know the the bag top covers for the D80 were never printed on. The modle name was on the handle fork decal, but not the bag top cover. Justin

    Aerus/Electrolux Canister Bags

I use the Perfect bags in my Lux 1205 and love them. I don't think of them as all that pricey, not compared to genuine bags. They filter very nicely and seem to be well made. You should not have any problems with them. Justin

    What Kirby models are these?

Yes, the outer bag on the Classic III is an after-market or 'bojack' bag. It uses Eureka type F&G paper filter bags. Many old Kirby vacuums were refitted with these types of bag systems in the late '70's and '80's. They are still available, but do not work as well as the genuine Kirby...

    Today's intake of derelict machines

Love that car... The '71 and '72 Galaxys and LTDs are my all time favorite cars. I love them a bit more than the '80's Lincoln Town Cars and the short lived Lincoln Versailles. Justin (I'm also a 1972 model)

    Painting an Electrolux... Advice Needed!

Question... Can you fill in the ELECTROLUX lettering with something so that the paint does not fill in the letters? Something like Elmer's Glue, maybe? Justin

Filter Queen and other vintage machinery

My childhood memories... When I was little, age 4 or 5, my grandparents got the 'joy' of baby-sitting me very often. At that time they did not have many neighbors(now the farm house is surrounded by '80's built houses) and no kids at all. When grandpa was tired of playing with me he would get...

    Electrolux 345 Find

That looks so much like a US Electrolux. Does it use a Power Nozzle or is it straight suction? Nice color, too. Best of luck on the 'over haul'. Justin

    Vintage Vacuums you LUST AFTER!!!!

I'd give just about anything for a Bison with attachments or one of the Com Vac commercial Kirbys to go along with my Super Vac 180. Justin

    Souping up a Rexair . . .

Go for it... I say go for it. I have many of my Kirbys rigged with mini emtors so I can use the HEPA bags. If you want to make an antique usable for YOUR needs, than that is all that really counts. Just make sure you are careful and don't do anything that might hurt you or damage your home. Justin
