    A scam!

I'll disagree that it is necessarily just to show it off. I've listed my Fantom Wildcats at insanely high prices on eBay several times, and I'm willing to admit the prices are insane. I get a relatively large volume of email in regards to the three I own, I only list two because I promised if I...

Has anyone sued Dyson for false advertising?

While this is drifting from my original point, Dyson quality is, what I'd consider, upper end discount store quality. I won't even say department store because Sears has some better made canister models. I have a DC07, DC33, DC16 and DC35. The DC07 is better built than the DC33 without a...

Has anyone sued Dyson for false advertising?

I'm curious to this. They claim to "never lose suction" only a filterless Rainbow is likely to achieve this such as a D4, the Dyson filters will clog. Assuming you were to empty both basins when full the Dyson will eventually clog, the Rainbow will still work, probably without cleaning the...

    My "new" Dc16

Get the aftermarket high capacity battery and it runs at least 10-11 min.

New vac: Rainbow vs Miele. Also technique question

New they're about $2500 around here, it varies somewhat regionally but not by much. I guess it depends on the quality of your distributor and their service,Mir you know they are established, it might be worth it for warranty purposes if you plan on using it heavily. You should be able to trade...

Consumer Reports hits a new LOW...(Vacuum Ratings)

Rainbow in CR and other expensive vacs Electromatik, Completely forgot that CR uses non wetable stuff like talcum powder in these tests. This is probably why when they tested the D4 in the past that it rated poorly for emissions (or the old 11 amp Fantom without a HEPA for that matter). I can...

Unfortunately had to toss several Vacs at work this week

I'd part it out if it was remotely salvageable This stuff was mostly junk, a few still pending are in great shape and or new but the parts outweigh the cost of replacement and my labor to fix them or are impossible to find. I may part these out if it is cost effective.

Unfortunately had to toss several Vacs at work this week

Had about 5 pallets of vacuums that hat have been at the place I work for 3 years. I decided to attempt to save them or as many as possible. I basically had the sole stipulation of fixing them cheap enough to be worth while. Most were displays, Amazon returns etc. Casualties- Hoover Tempo...

Consumer Reports hits a new LOW...(Vacuum Ratings)

Rainbow I think it is high time they retest the Rainbow, they haven't tested one in so long and the improvements are substantial.

Trash find of a life time

Maybe they moved and just left it, too much hassle to pack for the move, and new owners didn't want it. Sometimes if you've got the income to blow this might not be that big a purchase. I know people that seem like they've got nothing based on how they live and a Kirby is half a pay check.

Trash find of a life time

If you don't have a serial number it will be nearly impossible to track it. Then again I did a few years ago find the then current E Series Rainbow at a thrift store for $20, someone just got rid of it. Used Kirbys have next to no resale value around here, I could buy almost any one prior to...

I'm obsessed with the new Rainbows!

I've had terrible luck with rewinders, I'd rather it not have one!

I'm obsessed with the new Rainbows!

The new powerhead is amazing. I'm half tempted to buy one for my older E series. It maneuvers well and grooms very well. It also has those side brushes for the baseboards, which you won't be seeing anywhere else for quite a while as I looked up the patent and it's only a few years old. I'll give...

I want to trade some of my vacuums for a newer Rainbow e2.

Depending on your dealer you might get a good trade up towards a gold on the SE.

I want to trade some of my vacuums for a newer Rainbow e2.

Assuming you are talking about the newest model E2. Your best bet is to scour craigslist and try and get one there if you can't afford it at full price. Still isn't going to be cheap. I don't think you'll find many takers. A fully rebuilt SE (by Rainbow certified tech at out local office) and a...

    Dyson filter soiling issue

I should note, I still believe the filter and airflow is part of the problem. My original 11 amp Fantom Thunder had virtually nothing but carbon dust on the filter (and certainly no big lint) when we decided to change it after maybe 3 years of daily use back in the 1990s and it still works. I...

    Dyson filter soiling issue

I'd expect some soiling but it seems like a tad much. Is there any source of fine dust like ash, carpet fresh? Additionally did you use any sort of detergent on them that could impede airflow and cause less efficient filtration? The first picture looks a bit excessive for 2 months at that. I...

So what happens if Sears goes under

If you want to see a nice looking Kmart, check out the Super Kmarts. There are a few left in the Midwest, something like 20. I was at the one in Warren Ohio a month ago, it was clean, well stocked. Sears Grand was a pretty cool concept store too, I went to the one near Pittsburgh, large, more...

So what happens if Sears goes under

I was just commenting on this elsewhere. Do not expect much if anything to happen in the very near future, JCP was in much worse shape, and might still be, than Sears is now. Sears owns a large number of their stores for which they have no lease obligations, the real estate is worth, from what...

So why have Dyson re-introduced the DC33?

The Ball Dysons are hard on your wrist. I prefer the non ball versions.
