My Problem - Solved By A Dirt Devil!!

Very cool! I've seen those on TV and they apparently come in a whole lot of colors. Terry has a Slider and really likes it for everyday pickups in the kitchen and such. I think I'm going to get one for that same reason. The lack of bulk on the part of both these units make them ideal for their...

    A gift to myself...

Great cleaner Fred, and I love your tree too. I'm getting one of those trees for next year. The cleaner is roughly 20 years old. My roommate had one back then. Nice machine for the rugs. I used a 1205 as the canister. I'm kind of wishing I had bought that green retro cleaner they offered for a...

Can anybody tell me anything about this Hoover?

I wasn't a big fan of when they went to this style of hood, but this one is very cool! I like the colors and the bag.

Anyone have or tried a Roomba or Scooba?

This subject came up in the off topic portion of the cooking forum I read and sometimes participate in. A number of people have these and like them. I went to the site and did notice they are Good Housekeeping approved. While I rather enjoy vacuuming, I have to admit I like the red low-end...

A quick group photo of Perivale's finest!

Beautiful collection Si! I have the 1305A, which was a gift from Mike in Chester. :-)

Thanks Si! Even though there are differences between a lot of the models in different countries, that one kind of threw me!

    hoover Suction polisher

Thanks for the interesting info and thread! Tolivac, I have never seen such a thing here. Are the units you've seen for commercial purposes?

    hoover Italian brochure 1978

BTW What is the purpose of a "suction polisher"? Would one use this say on wood floors, to simultaneously buff the surface and remove the dust and dirt? To my knowledge, nothing like this was ever offered in the states. Here, we use the type that dispenses water for floors or shampoo for carpets.

    hoover catalogue from germany, 1975

Interesting.... Look at the tools next to the power drive cleaner, what we know as a Dialamatic in the states. Here in the states, that type of tool goes on a Convertible (Senior in Europe). On the stateside Dialamatics, the tool conversion is on the rear of the hard body, with a switch to...

This past Friday Club Co-Founder John Lucia was in town,

So glad you got to see John. I expect he is on his way to Arizona now? I got to see him a few years ago in Tucson, which was a lot of fun. Never pay that much money for a vintage mixer unless it's NIB.

This past Friday Club Co-Founder John Lucia was in town,

*Holding nose* Do you want pas-TRAAAAAAAAAAAH-mi? ;-) (If you don't watch TV, go to the link below, and select "indecision." I only watch the news, and saw it then. "Cow Shakeoff" is good too, that is one of my favorite songs. I had no idea Canter's was a real place until someone mentioned it...

    Miele Solaris Electro Plus DC

I just love my Miele. I bought it off Ebay from a woman who was uprgrading to a Silver Moon. It's called "Electronic S328i." It's the same size as the Solaris, 1100 watts and slide control for the suction. She had wood floors and had no electric nozzle, which is fine as I use an upright (Royal)...

    Royal Powercast

Someone brought one of these to one of the conventions in the past. It is a cool machine, but it is heavy, and for whatever reason I don't remember it being something I'd be eager to run out and buy. There's nothing to me like a good old fashioned original design soft bag Royal upright...

Does anybody use their Kirbys to shampoo carpets?

I used to do it now and then. I thought the results were respectable and I never had the too wet carpet issue. The tank is a bit small, and mine was always clogging, but I later learned I was missing some sort of filter, so that was hardly the fault of the unit. I think it'd be great to do a...

    Electrolux Quietness

I had a 1205, and found it to be very quiet, so it was interesting to hear that comment about the G, although I think the G's are amongst the quietest of the Electroluxes. The newer ones, one of which I also owned, are just horrendously noisy to the point where I couldn't wait to get rid of...

    The New and Improved Hooverland

What a great idea! It looks really nice that way! Nice to have some additional room on the floor for when you want to entertain friends (or yourself for that matter!) with the vacuums.
