    Dickinson Electric Broom

its not the first vacuum by far. That's a carpet sweeper from around the early 1900s. I believe the first manual vacuum was made in the 1880s. id consider it worth 90 dollars if it works really good and the bellows aren't rotten and the veneer isn't cracking off.

Should I Trade An Electrolux Model G For A Hoover Custom Convertible?

A Hoover will run circles around a Elux. Id go for it. Hoovers are the best of the best (50 years ago atleast).

    Dyson DC39 Motor

A Dyson is a joke... For what someone payed for a Dyson, they suck, in a bad way. The cyclone is really the downfall to a dyson, aswell as all of the cheap plastic parts, and poorly constructed drop in motor. A Dyson is a poorly made, poorly performing cheap vac in any circumstances. I don't...

    Filter queen

I found the machine... I found the filter queen quiet east to use. Atleast it captures the fine dust. Only use genuine filter queen filters. There better quality. And the cyclone seems to work. There is no extreme airflow loss. There really is no way to effectively use a cyclone. The powerheads...

    Filter queen

There not too heavy... I wouldn't call them very heavy but... yeah. maybe 20 pound-ish? It has a Ametek Lamb motor. The power nozzles are a little loud as well. The weight wouldn't matter as it rolls very easily across carpet and wood. I believe about past around 1965 a powernozzle and 2 speed...

    Filter queen

A Filter Queen A filter queen is one of the finest modern vacuums in my opinion. There very quiet and suck a lot. I would definitely get a filter queen.

Big Box stores- Buy a new Vac, We will show you how to ruin it...

The Hoover 62 i recently got was caked in that evil carpet powder. Now that I rebuilt it it runs like new. I scraped off that powder for 20 minutes. Why aren't vacuums meant to last anymore?

    Rob's Tradition restoration...

HOOVER bearings... Those bearings aren't for a hoover upright, there probably HOOVER bearings. Hoover is a manufacturer of bearings for everything. But that vacuum looks pretty good for what it was.

    Hoover - who the heck...

Also... I know the convertible bearings fit, but I am particularly bugged by that extra screw slot.

    Hoover - who the heck...

Andy I sadly don't have the time or knowledge to redo the bars. I finished this thing tonight and its a little ratty sounding but overall it sounds perfectly usable.

    Hoover - who the heck...

Il finish it tonight and post pics. Looks like the armature top will always be trashed since I don't have money for a new one. trading out that top convertible bearing for a REAL hoover 62 bearing. Dousing the fan and armature top in my equivalent to parts cleaner, alcohol. The beater bar was...

    Hoover - who the heck...

So just went to the Henry company. Got a sick sounding model 62, and when I get into it I discover... Well the pics show it. Probably more bad things further in.

Used A Kirby For The First Time! Woah

Weird smell... Sounds like a scratched commutator or low brushes. Only thing that I know of with that "smell".

    Noise making me nervous!

Dry bearings... Hair on Beater bar.... Ok first of all, beater bar probably has stuff in bearings like hairs. Need to be cleaned and repacked. The top sleeve bearings don't really self lubricate themselves and need to be oiled. Lower bearings probably need a cleaning and re packing. Make sure...

Anyone Know How To "Defog" A Dust Cup or Bin?

Meguiars headlight polish. The meguiars headlight polish works good for my junky old flashlights and vacuum light lenses. It polishes and removes cloudiness from clear plastic. the polish looks like blue slush drink and comes in a white bottle. Not to add that dirt spinning around probably...

    Electrolux model 60:

I have 1... I have the attachment rack. When I got it, it had 1 broken clasp from shipping. I don't have that clasp but the rack is still there, and you can probably make some sort of replacement from tin for the clasp. I have no idea what shipping would be also.

    Electrolux model 60:

For the right price... I would possibly sell mine. pictures on vintage thread section area in "My Latest Restorations" thread. I might, but it would be a fairly pricey price. the floor head is scratched as usual and the hose is I believe for a G. But it all works, is complete, rebuilt and...
