    Garage Sale Kirby G4

Oh Dave! I remember that thread! Makes ya wonder why people don't use common sense. My garage sale find is in MUCH better shape. I'm still going to need to do some disassembling to get it good and clean.

    Garage Sale Kirby G4

Question answered Well, I think I just answered my own question. A look at Ebay sellers seems to indicate that the tubes are not interchangeable. But for a mere $50 bucks, I can upgrade the entire assembly (including emptor) to one that breaths more freely. I guess its like my Diamond G. Not...

    Garage Sale Kirby G4

zip tie It's definitely missing the zip tie straps. I'll examine the fill tube more closely tomorrow. Does anyone know if the crush proof style fill tube from later G models will fit this assembly? Are they the same diameter? If this one needs replacing, I think I'll upgrade if it fits. Dave...

    Garage Sale Kirby G4

Emptor I was talking about where the fill tube attaches to the emptor and also to the assembly that connects to the paper bag. Sorry about not being clear!

    Garage Sale Kirby G4

A friend called me from a garage sale the other day and told me she found a Kirby G4 that was being sold for $20. She wanted to know if I wanted it. I said, "Offer them $15 and they've got a deal." Well, she just brought it over to me. Not much wrong with it either that a little spit shine won't...

Another New Compact - C-9 UPB

Lube Fred, do you use sewing machine oil to lube a brush roll? I've used that on an old Lux power nozzle and it seems ok. But I don't use it that much either. BTW, the guy finally emailed me and I have a green one coming sans the power nozzle! YEAH!!!

Another New Compact - C-9 UPB

Pretty Cool I started the original thread when I found the green machine on Ebay. I could kick myself for not purchasing one in time. By the time I got around to it, they were all gone. So I emailed the guy about other models. He said he would check and get back to me, but he never did. Now I'm...

    Tristar

Sandy is right! Well, Sandy is right about the brushroll. I placed an aftermarket brushroll on my Tristar power nozzle and it did ok. However, I just installed a genuine Tristar brushroll and I can honestly say that its performace is far superior to the aftermarket item. First, it is much...

beautiful and cheap FQ for sale

How often do you vacuum? I vacuum everyday. Dogs. I'm afraid I would find a Rainbow a nuisance, since I vacuum that often. Filling the water basin. Emptying it. Cleaning it. I think that would get old. I'd go with the FQ, if I had a chance to buy one. Just a thought.

    Brand New Compact on Ebay

Rug Rat The best hand held turbo brush that I've used/owned is the Rug Rat. It works better than the powered brushes like the Electrolux Sidekick, especially when its hooked up to my Tristar.

Royal Upright The vacuum I remember from Hazel is a Royal Upright. I don't remember seeing her vacuum with it. She just hauls it through the house from time to time.

LOL! Dave, you should write copy for Royal's advertising! It does sort of remind me of Al Borland (Tim Taylor's side-kick) on Home Improvement! LOL!
