    Curb-picked Eureka Upright

Hoover belts DO work on later Sanitaires and Eurekas despite some rather illogical claims on this forum, they're best used on the Pancake type motor rather than the Blender type motor... Anyone who claims otherwise is either a fool or ill-informed... After all, I have three Sanitaires, all...

Eureka upright - what did I buy here?

What you have bought there is a superb vacuum for a rock bottom price, be proud of it, cos it'll last you a long time, despite what the missus & daughter says... :D It's essentially a Sanitaire, so you have pretty much got one of the best uprights there is, it'll rarely break down, if at all...

    Curb-picked Eureka Upright

Yeah, on some older Eurekas, the Hoover Senior/Convertible belts are too tight, and must use RD belts, but for some reason, later models the RD belts are much slacker, and that's where the Hoover belts come into play.... :)

    Curb-picked Eureka Upright

Oh, and the belts are "Type RD", if a Hoover belt won't fit on there (E.G.too tight to reach the pulley), then use the RD belts... :)

You can get replacement bag assemblies pretty much anywhere, given that it looks pretty much like a Sanitaire, you could get away with using a red Sanitaire ST bag like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190535284028

    Views on new Hoover constellation?

I not too sure who sold the Satellite, a lot of Maytag products here tend to remain well under the radar when it comes to retailing them, I think I once saw them at T. K. Maxx, or TJ Hughes, or one of them stores who piles high and sells cheap stuff that went out of business in the past 5 years...

    Views on new Hoover constellation?

I should also point out, it's easier to just search the "Cleaning, Laundry and Vacuuming" section for just "Maytag" as nobody on ebay seems able to spell "satellite" properly....

No, TTI owns Vax, hence why they offer Hoover-US products (owned by TTI) in Europe & the UK as Vax products with some minor alterations... I think there are the odd one or two Maytag Satellites on ebay now and then, obviously not being sold under the familiar Hoover Constellation name, people...

"HOOVER are still making them!? That's the first I&# I don't know if they still are making them now, but they did have them for sale a few years ago, and here in the UK, as the Hoover name is owned by the Candy Group, TTI had to market it as the "Maytag Satellite", same thing, just a different...

    Views on new Hoover constellation?

From speaking to a couple of people who have had them in the past, they're good at invading your personal space, thanks to the stretch-hose, so unless you like bruised shins, I'd avoid it... :&#92 Plus, there's the problem of the hovering bit that made it unique, it blows all the loose, fluffy...

    KIRBY VS. DYSON

Let's just say, my well-used Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80 is at least 42 years old, I'd like to see a current model Dyson after the same length of time and whether or not it works after living a life of average use... Somehow, I think the Kirby would be more likely to be still around... :P

    Hoover junior U1012

"I know they are new and stuff, but, £200 jesus! " That's the thing, they didn't actually sell, cos a few weeks later, they were relisted and sold for about £20, it's something I've seen happen a few times, people with multiple ebay accounts bid up the price to something nobody in their right...

getting rid of smokey smell on Kirby Heritage II

"How do I clean the chord?" Move up a couple of notes? :&#92 (had to do that, been messing about with musical stuff the past couple of nights, and chords are not fun!!) To clean the cable (or Cord), just remove it from the handle and vac base, and take a damp, soapy cloth and pull the cable...

    Hoover junior U1012

I've never used them, but the Junior is apparently better than the Senior with above-floor tools, as the converter connects directly to the fan chamber, rather than through a converter pan (either nozzle-mounted, or through the rear-entry converter slot, hence being the "Convertible" over in the...

Hand or Foot operated power switch...

So long as they have a switch, I'm not that bothered... :P All my vacs, bar my Sanitaires S663 & ZC-880 and the Kirby Vacuette, have foot switches for the main motor, so I'm used to pedal (or button) power when firing up a vacuum, though the switches on the two sanitaires are pretty handy, but...

    Outer bag for Hoover 344?

For a functional bag, try the ones with the Type-A filltube, you can use the Type-Y HEPA (apparently) bags in them, aswell as the paper Type-A bags of course... :) This one on ebay should fit and work perfectly (after looking up what a Hoover 344 is on Google Images), it fits pretty much all...

Top Fill Or Bottom Fill Bags?

Well, Electrolux (Proper, as opposed to the splitters) certainly backed the right brands, that's for sure... :) I've never gotten any of my vacuum bags to the fill line, it's kind of hard when you have multiple models which use different bags, so they take ages to fill individually, I just...

    Hoover junior U1012

I think the idea of cloth bags being a strain is a bit of a fallacy, as prior to the disposable bag, vacuum cleaners used cloth bags, yes not internal ones inside an external one, but they were still cloth bags, and a lot of the looked-after models are still here without burnt out motors... :)

Finally I got my first Hoover Imukki (Portapower)

I can't help but think that apple would probably use that name for a vacuum cleaner, slightly altered as "iMucky"... :P It's interesting that it was made in the US for Europe, when it could have been made here in England for Europe (making it cheaper to buy, less miles to cover with...

    Hoover junior U1012

Well, a lot of my stuff is still boxed up since moving, given the lack of places to unpack it all, and I can't remember which box the belts went into... :&#92 That said, they could be in my bags box, which is under a load of other boxes and the broadband modem & wifi router, so means moving...
