    Central vacuum recommendations.

Owen knows his trade well. For new home buyers telling their builders they don't want a central system because of the cumbersome hose, he recommends the builder mention the retractable hose which can operate a battery operated power brush or a Turbocat with a strong enough power unit. He's an MD...

    Central vacuum recommendations?

Our nearest MD dealer is too far away in the metro Detroit area so we got a Vacuflo 466Q. It's rated to 5,000 sq. Ft. We have 1,430. It's plenty strong enough.

    Eureka 1784B

I have a Brandywine similar model 1279 from 1980. Still hums like new. Powerhead too. Vibragroomer I.

shopvac 16 gallons with central vacuum hose

It won't hurt it, but may not have much suction. Minimum number of fans in a CV is two, and the suction is sealed within the tubing and the large dirt recepticle.

I kind of don't like retractable hose systems.

The hide a way hoses can only use battery operated power brushes.

The horrible truth about central vacuum systems and why every non-Canadian millennial hates them.

Our 30 year old Hoover model 567 Central VAC start relay died a few weeks ago. Relay board no longer available and a universal one wouldn't work because of the holes in the tank housing. I replaced the motor two years ago, and sewed the Dacron polyester filter. It had a small hole and is also no...

    Central Vacuum - Pistol Grip

Yes, MD, Canavac also make them. They come with a powerhead only switch, meaning the unit turns on upon connecting to the wall inlet, or total control, with a three position switch which also turns the main unit on and off with the hose in the wall outlet. Also corded pigtail for wall outlet...

Why self checkouts closed more than open?

Meijer stores are eliminating the over 12 items self heck outs as they remodel stores.

Why self checkouts closed more than open?

They can get out of calibration, dirty, then they don't work well. Some also when older. Soon, many stores will be using rfid scanning of your order. Your bank account will be on file with the stores secure vpn network. As you shop, it will tally your bill. When you finish, it will total...

    Electrolux vacuums to become extinct?

Good deductions Bill, Kevin and Paul. Electrolux AB bought Eureka in 1974, and ran it fine until the 90's. It seems all old factories have closed up. The next for the axe was the Greenville Michigan former Gibson refrigerator plant, bought by them with White Consolidated along with Frigidaire...

HOW DID THIS END UP IN THE US???

How it got here? Perhaps with a returning US army or other military veteran. Many are stationed in Germany. Kaiserslaughtern, Ramstein air base, Zweibruken, etc. You can also buy American products near those bases, namely cars and pick ups. Americans also work and live over there for short...

    Electrolux vacuums to become extinct?

Already are extinct The Cyclone Power, and Oxygen line were the final products from the Vastervik plant in Sweden, early 2000's. There was also Volta. Enter Hungary; the machines out of Hungary have mostly Chinese electronics and pressure transducer parts, and were troublesome. The Oxygen 3...

    Miele Blizzard CX1

Miele's are plastic, but the durable kind, not cheap lexan. The C3 skeleton design saved a bit of weight. Even their new vortex single fan motor will outlast the old AB E-Lux twin fan motors, and performs at least as well. At least you are getting what you pay for. Even at close to a...

Saw a lot of vacuums this week in

I passed up a Kirby there last week. It was a 90's model. They had $50 on it. It didn't look too bad. It had the tool caddy, but no hose. Heavy machines. Still, for those tired of replacing plastic machines that last a few years tops, they can't be beat. I'm at the point in life where you...

The "Cream" of 1982. With hints of hot fudge, and racing stripes!!

yeah, drool I won't part with my '79-or'80 brandywine model 1279, or 1290 canned ham either. I thought the canned hams were discontinued before the belt view power heads came out though. Maybe they kept them in production for Wards longer.

    Back east?

Ohya (ohio) is where Hoovers were made. Remember the door to door vacuum cleaner salesman, like when Moms mostly stayed home? Whenever a new housing plan went in, they were in there along with the milk man, Fuller brush, Kirby, Rexair (Rainbow), Filter Queen, etc. California was really on...

    HILARIOUS :)

Maybe he also drives a "Reliant" car. Not a "Shimitar" though, one of the 3 wheeled jobs. His vac looks top rear heavy like one. They used to roll over if you cornered too fast.
