Another thought that came to mind regarding the hopping of your Electrolux 3500SR is that its brush roll bristles have stiffened over time. You could try to remedy that by removing the brush roll, placing it in a pail of warm water, weighing it down with a plastic container filled with water...

Aerus has a newer website (I'm not sure when it was redone, but it was sometime in 2016)--I wonder if you used it or the previous one? In the upper right hand corner is the "Online Store" tab. You should be able to find hoses there.
