    my review of the shark

Too put it bluntly. The typical American consumer now a days is dumb as a rock. They will believe anything that's on tv. And most of these people see dirt in the bin and think the vacuum did an amazing job without ever looking at the carpet and noticing it still looks horrible. I have met...

    Should I?

I would do it For 40 bucks it's a deal. I'd pay that just for the complete attachment kit. Love them or hate them every collection needs at least 3 Kirby's lol.

    Reattaching Rainbow SE Gasket?

Rubber cement I use commercial grade rubber cement. It's branded pliobond. Never had a problem with it. I do always latch on the water basin to get a tight seal

    Older Hoover Guardsman

The bag I'm wondering if the bag with dump cup is areplacement from a paper bag system. It's obviously not a commercial grade machine as the cord hook should on the front of the handle for that. And commercial units that I have seen only have an upper hook to hang the cord on.

NIB Dirt Devil Can Vac Power Pak

I miss that vacuum. I had one years ago. Not the most powerful but I still loved that little thing. Sadly it's gone. Mom had then let someone borrow it and it never came home.

    This is just wrong.

I agree That's about as bad as someone listing a vacuum as vintage or restored with hoses and attachments from four different models. These poor vacuums get frankenstiened and can't do anything about it.

    Silver King vacuum

Vacuous Wiring a switch is so simple. One side gets hot wire from power cord. Other side sends power to motor and PN receptacle ( where applicable). This is the most basic scenerio. Neutral wire ( typically white) from motor and receptacle are wire nutted to neutral from cord. ( I mean no harm...

Kenmore Whispertone canister with dirt sensor?

I have seen the lights. The late 90s, I believe TOL Whispertone series offered the dirt sensor light. That was the older style head that used the geared belt. My aunt has a TOL progressive which also has the lights. Never was a big fan of the feature myself.

Rainbow SE clear model. Insight please

That is cool! That's a new one for me. I have seen a clear oreck before. Sadly when I tried to aquire that from the oreck store it has already been stripped for parts and was long gone. That taller spider is original to the se machines. That was designed to work better with the taller seperater.

    Kenmore canister with power-mate compact

I haven't seen that in while A friend of mine had the same vacuum in white with power nozzle years ago. It was a great vacuum. I have seen it once in blue with power nozzle here in Delaware. I think they must have had a very short run with power nozzle then went to suction only. When they were...

the dirt that every vacuum misses.

No vacuum get all the dirt Even as great as Kirby's are there is always some dirt left behind. That's why I hate carpet. Much rather had hardwood. Yet these people are so dumb they wil pitch a good Kirby or Hoover for a dc24 or some tiny little Bissell broom just because they can see what it...

Two wires or three in a hose

Check your machine end of hose Even on an old kenmore there are three prongs one the machine end. The only way to have two wires is to run the two motors in series which will cause them to run at half power due to the added electrical resistance of the second motor. Two pins at the nozzle end...

Two wires or three in a hose

No ground One wire is power to switch. Second one goes from switch back to vacuum to activate the motor. Power comes from switch to power nozzle and third wire is the neutral from power nozzle all the way back to cord winder.

Two wires or three in a hose

Did you have a power nozzle If your vacuum uses an electric power nozzle you do have three wires. In order to run a power nozzle and activate the vacuum you must have three wires. It's not possible any other way.

Talk to me about Henry vacs in the U.S.A.

I love min but he has a power head Here is a picture of my James with wessel power head kit. I use him for cleaning house and he is great. Much easier and lighter than the rainbow I was using. I will say without the electric head he isn't much good on wall to wall carpet. Sadly here in the US...

Warehouse clean out-Losing Lease-Vacs WILL GO!!!

Hey gang! Last weekend I had a great trip to Jimmy's warehouse. Had nice breakfast near the store and a great afternoon digging through the warehouse. Sorry this post is a week late, it has been rather chaotic since I returned home. I will upload a photo once the weather cooperates a little...

6000 sq ft home and the need for clean

Go for a complete wessel kit The wessel nozzle itself will not fit directly on a Hayden hose. However if you get a complete kit with a hose that will work with you inlet valves. A whole kit may be the best option and the hose would be more pliable and easier to use than the Hayden hose. I do...

Numatic "Henry" or Oreck Compacto9 Canister?

I would go for the Henry I have had a Henry for years and never had a bit of trouble with it. When I worked for oreck I saw a lot of compacto canisters come back with problems. Their where a lot of issues with filters and thermal switches. I also found the compact was a little difficult to...
