    FUBAR

it will have some residual odor, maybe forever, depending on what the composition of the contamination actually is. It may 'burn off' once the motor runs a bit a gets good and warm. I will get warmer more quickly and closer to hot, inside the vacuum.

    FUBAR

you could have gotten the armature wet.. it would survive the experience. Not like you're leaving it there to rust... but it will smell much better when next fired up. You are correct, the brushes are no longer replaceable. The motor won't live through a second set in all probability, it may not...

    Kirby DS 80 in UK?

a US spec kirby merely required a step down voltage transformer and they are cheap an readily available in the UK. Now you just have to find and import one. I don't know all of Kirby's history in the UK but there should be something there from the same vintage.

    Prefect hepa bags

They are great bags. I use them and find them to be the best bag available for the 'c' bag tanks. I wish something similar were available for the 'u' and 'r' and 'p' bags.

It's almost time again for the 127 endless yard sale

oh I love an old claw foot tub. Had a 6 footer in my first apartment and it was DEEP. Could fill it up and get everything but my head under water for a good soak and the water stayed HOT for a long time in that cast iron.

    Bison on eBay!

I'd almost bite at the price... but then I saw the $100 shipping charge. Not going to happen. Another trend on eBay... ridiculous shipping charges on a realistically priced item. Saw a nice Electrolux L a few weeks back, BIN at a high but not ridiculous number.... and $88 economy shipping. For...

It's almost time again for the 127 endless yard sale

I made a trip east 7 or 8 years ago and was amazed and broke after this event. Came home with a full load and almost considered leaving a dog behind to make room for more.

Wayne,   We share a birthday, separated by a little more than 30 years.. but a good day. I see you work in a vac shop. That can be a blessing or a curse. The first Pig I ever used was at my first retail job back in 1979 and I've used many since in all kinds of industries. They are easy to...
