    My Extensive Collection Part 6

Dan You really deserve some kind of reward! Great job on having the longest continuing thread in VacuumLand history. To Robert, Thanks for such an amazing site. As Dan stated, without VacuumLand some of us would have no one to share our interests with, or to gain knowledge and insight in the...

    My DC41 MK2. I must be mad!

With some dirty fan vacuums dirt being in the bag can affect airflow/performance. The air being forced into the bag from the motor has to go somewhere and that would be out through the pores of the bag. If the bag becomes clogged then all the motor is doing is flicking dirt to the bag. I hope...

    My DC41 MK2. I must be mad!

In reference to the Kirby vs Dyson video, he who goes last wins. There is always going to be particles left in carpet. There are other factors to consider. The Kirby had about a half full bag, so who knows what has been vacuumed up and what is already clogging the bag pores. The condition of the...

    TTI/Oreck expanding in USA

I decided to Google Oreck for the heck of it and found this nice article talking about TTI planing to add about 200 jobs to the factory in Cookeville. They are planning to bring back some of their manufacturing from Mexico and overseas. It looks like there may be some good things on the horizon...

must see this about dyson IT IS NOT GOOD

Oreck_XL Most Oreck's are still manufactured in the USA though. Also all of Oreck's remanufactured units are done in Cookesville, Tennessee. So I would happily support a company still manufacturing here. Plus there are good things on the horizon for the Oreck manufacturing plant.

"Selling because we got rid of our carpet"

I am like MikePdx... A dust mop for the day to day sweeping and a canister for cars, furniture, dusting, and the weekly going through the house and getting all of the dust and dirt out of corners and other crevices.

Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup issue - Hoover's response

That Dyson durability video is complete S***! They drop the Hoover Air from that height and let it SLAM to the ground. The Dyson they only dropped it to about half the height of the Hoover. They did not even let it slam to the ground. My Hoover Air has withstood quite a bit of abuse (It's the...

    PLEASE HELP!!

Tyler I agree with what everyone else has been saying. I know what you are going through. My dad was the same exact way. When I was younger he thought me liking vacuums was cute and just something I would grow out of. But when I wanted to start buying some of my own vacuums that is where he lost...

    My Extensive Collection Part 4

Dan I could not imagine life without my two furry friends. They are my life. You are in my thoughts and hopefully with time, your sorrow will heal and maybe you will find a new furry friend to help fill the void that is missing within your heart.

Dan, when you get the chance could you let me know how the new Hoover Quiet Force preforms? I have been wondering about those new canisters.

    My Extensive Collection Part 4

Dan you will love the Air. I have the Air Steerable and it is one heck of a vacuum. It has been my daily driver for over a year now and with no problems. Hoover made a great vacuum with the Air series.

So I Splurged Over the Weekend

I think you could get a good two to maybe four years out of it as long as you keep the bags and filters changed. I would highly recommend to use the cloth hepa bags from Sears for them as they are much thicker and filter way better than the yellow paper bags. They are the type O bags. I have...

    Trouble finding bags at Sears

Sears can be very good at selection. As far as Sears going under...It is only a matter of time. I work with the Sears company and honestly do get scared at times. I just heard today that one Sears in my area will be closing soon. Really what the problem is is not the company, but the big idiot...

    Royal Metal Upright

I agree with Dan here but another thing one can remember is that the metal Royal's are very desirable in commercial settings. I am pretty sure TTI makes some good money on the metal Royal sales. I could be wrong though, but judging from how many metal Royal's I see in commercial settings, I...

when and why did DVC go out of business?

DVC is related to HomeCare Industries. I believe it is called HomeCare Products now. They are still around. They were bought out or taken over from another company I do believe, but they still manufacture here in America. I was on the VDTA website looking through an online magazine and saw about...

2 More HOOVER factories are closing

I am not trying to defend these brands but, I honestly do not see the higher end and door to door brands moving to China anytime soon. It is going to take a big precursor for them to make that decision. Obviously these brands have survived through one of the greatest economic downfalls in our...
