The Strangest Model 30 I've Seen!

Why, I can't say I have come across any Electrolux as peculiar as this one. This XXX is your standard XXX made between 1948 and 1952. However, it has a "power strip" along the side of it for a power nozzle and who knows what else it's for. The hose I got with it doesn't say Electrolux, but it...

    Kirby Bag

Chris, you might be able to find a Heritage Sani-Emtor at a vacuum shop. That would be your best bet. No epoxy needed, and you could always take it off if you want to put it back to its original form. Plus, you can still get good Kirby bags for the Heritage. Good luck! ~~K~~

    Kirby Bag

The "Sani-Emtor" is for emptying out larger debris on the paper bagged versions and to empty out the cloth bag on the older ones. They are quite an effective design! I assume Kirby patented the "Sani-Emtor" and that would be why Royals don't have them. If it were my vacuum, I'd go with the...

Bissell Carpet Shampooer--"Little Green" FOR SALE

Anyone interested? This one seems to work very well and doesn't have any problems as far as I can tell. I inherited this one from my aunt who didn't need it anymore. ~~K~~

    FOR SALE--Hoover Bagless U5290-900

Here is a Hoover U5290-900 bagless vacuum for sale. It's missing the upholstery tool and the dusting brush, the hose has a very small hole in it and is slightly squashed at one end, and unfortunately, I can't get it to work. It looks to me as though the motor could be easily replaced. The SN is...

    Guess What I Found

Very nice! Great find! That bag looks great! It doesn't look like it'll need to much to get it looking brand new! :-) Good luck! ~~K~~

    Gold Plated/Colored Kirbys

Anodizing is pretty durable. I'd think you could clean/polish that a little more vigorously. Good luck! ~~K~~

    Gold Plated/Colored Kirbys

If I were you, I'd get a "Sunshine Cloth," a yellow polish cloth meant for jewelry. What ever you do, DON'T polish too hard! I am guessing it is a thin plate (electroplating is only a few atoms thick!) and it will likely come off if you aren't careful! I would only polish it when it REALLY needs...

    What is this?!

I think overlock stitching (serging) was invented in the 1800s. I found this on Wikipedia, so we know it MUST be true! ;-) ~~K~~

Bissell Carpet Shampooer--"Little Green" FOR SALE

I have a Bissell "Little Green" one-speed carpet shampooer for sale. I am asking $30 plus ACTUAL shipping, but I will consider offers. The URL link shows what model, I believe. It seems to work well and would be good for cars! It's in great shape and really has only been used maybe 5 times...

    Has anyone watched these videos?

I agree completely, David! When my mom and I went to check out getting a used Rainbow, they said that it wouldn't have the nicer features of the new ones (duh...!) and that no vacuum is capable of filtering 100%. We were able to "test drive" the D4 and the E2, but we didn't buy them because both...

Birthday self-gifting presents arriving at last...

I'm betting Electrolux! Who's with me?! :-) And typewriters, too?!?! Those are some neat ones! I have a Coronamatic 2200, another Smith-Corona electric, and a Royal Mercury portable. No kidding; I just got through typing on the 2200 not 10 minutes ago! :-) Can't wait to see more on the vacuum...

    The Terry/Tampa/State Vacuum/Wrecking Crew Whirlwind!!!

Wow! What an interesting design for a vacuum! It looks like a pool filter on the inside! :-) I take it this is a more unusual and uncommon vacuum? Other than some polishing and some overall cleaning, that baby is going to look great!! Good luck! ~~K~~

Let's hope the paint doesn't wear off and get on your rugs/carpet! It'd be cool just to display a golden brush roll, though! ~~K~~
