Those are great little machines. I have the tool set for mine. Not bad airflow.

    Eureka Hose

I think it was done for the low end models, the curved piece would just snap onto the shorter piece. Just a way to make the low end model more affordable would be my guess. Actually, like Kirby, I love that short straight end. It is perfect for cleaning the car or tight areas.

    I've acquired an Apex

Were these sold also as Speed Vac. My neighbor had one, same hose end, a rubber expandable when twisted. If memory serves me correctly the wands and hose end had a little nib that you inserted and gave a slight twist. It was a great little vacuum.

    David Oreck

David Oreck has passed away at age 99. Many folks here don’t like the Oreck Vacuum but I have to say that David truly believed in his product. He stood behind the product and knew how to market it. I have to say I have a model XL21 and I believe it cleans very well. It is easy to use. I...

    Eureka Bag Question

For me the Eureka F&G bags were never that great. They later came out with the higher filtration bags. I personally have converted all mine to ST bags.

I have seen photos of the hassock vacuums before. A neat idea! The uprights look like Singer may have been the manufacture.

    Kirby Fun

Wow, I love Costco! I just went to their website, and they are not listed, wondering if it is a local item. Our closest Costco is an hour away. We generally drive down a couple of times a year. Nicer than Sam's but probably a bit pricier. I wonder what the price is on the Kirby and if the...

Regina Electrikbroom Powerteam Mystery Model ~1983 Help A VacHead?

I can't really help much, but I used to recommend those Regina Power Team units to folks that moved into our local Senior Living Apartments. The apartments had a flat commercial grade carpet. Those Regina Power Team units were perfect. My only complaint was emptying them. It always seemed...

    The late, Great Stan Kann

Stan was an amazing man. He could be playing the Mighty Wurlitzer, humming a totally different tune and entertaining all at one time. I never had the privilege to hear him play in person but did get to visit his home, see his collection and with the advice of other club members avoided riding...

Thoughts on today's Vacuum of the Day

And we often forget about other brands out there. Here in Iowa, WI and Il, Eureka was more popular than Hoover. Sears was also very popular. Later Sunbeam also made some great machines. Advertising gimmicks were no different then than now. Bag-less machines are toted as being so much better...
