I think if this truly was new 5 or 6 years ago it would have the updated paper bag system and the new style handle with the switch in the handle and would have the name electrolux on it someplace. If they bought it new it must have been left over stock, which does happen a lot.

If the motor sounds fine then it's going to be doing what it's supposed to do. If it has very high pitched whine that unbearable then there's a good chance the fans are clogged but I doubt this is the issue. I bet you just have a seal problem somewhere. You might try getting some weather strip...

Great vacuums! I've had many of these. Bags are hard to get. You will have to order them from the company in Canada I believe unless you can find a dealer still in the West Coast somewhere more Northern West. If you can't find bags then Compact bags will work however they don't seal as well and...
