Thanks a million! The way my folks got it from what I've been told, was as a shipment that got rejected by the customer, and evidently Eureka wasn't able (or willing) to accept it as a return. Lasted until at least 2003, when it went into storage and got lost.
The first one I remember was an early 80s Eureka 1756(?) that my folks had before I was even thought of, then came a low-end Singer upright (loud as all get-out!).
I seem to remember we ended up with my uncle's Electrolux Olympia One, and my grandma's very worn out green Lewyt from the mid 50s...
Ours must've been the '83 model, as I don't remember that PN. On a side note, did the 1756 come without the Cordaway, because I don't recall ours ever having a provision for one.
Hi all, unsure if this is the right spot to ask, but I'm wondering how common the Olympia Ones are "in the wild". My grandma had one, which I had hoped to get, and I've been trying to find one since for a daily driver.
Thanks in advance,
Gene
Of the ones I've used in my nearly 33 years, the Eureka Power Team with the belt window, and the Elux PN-2 that came with my grandma's Olympia. Sorry, no pics that I can find from my archives.
Wowee!
I haven't seen one of these since I was a kid! My grandma had one, but the last time I saw it was in the late 90s. I'm certain it was tossed when she went to the nursing home 😠
