Well it effectively clogs the Kirby so much faster than a bag! The only advantage is you can see the dirt! I can go down to our local Big W (Your Wal-Mart) and buy a cheap Hoover upright for about the same cost in AUD and have less issues.

"besides what you think you know" if we went by this principal the world would be severely flawed. Surely you can grasp the concept that a bagged machine, bagless machine & (certain) "cyclonic" machines will lose suction because of the clogged bags/filters?

Agreed.. Congrats on your purchase :) Dyson Australia had the larger one as the "Mini Turbine Head" and another smaller one (very similar to yours, few changes) as the "Car Turbine Head". I would not even think about using the smaller one to do stairs but think the larger one would do good :)
