    Sears Craftsman Wet/Dry Vac

Any chance that this one was made by Emerson Electric? It looks similar to some of the older Ridgid Wet/Dry vacs.

    1925 Scott fitzer

That's an early vacuum cleaner manufactured by the Kirby Company. Scott-Fetzer is Kirby's parent company, and still is to this very day. This particular model was made from 1926-1934. The subsequent model, the Kirby Model C, which was released in 1935, was the first vacuum to bear the "Kirby"...

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

Nope. It's just regular cut pile carpet. I had to empty it too, which is a massive mess.

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

These weren't just loose fibers, these were whole tufts torn up from my carpeting. It's 3 year old builder's grade carpet, so I think it's already done all the shedding it needs to. This vacuum would be utterly useless without a brushroll. None of my other vacuums do this, including my older...

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

Ok, so I used the Bissell PowerForce Compact again today and found another issue. This vacuum will not clean anything that is not right in front of the cleaner. No edge cleaning whatsoever. I have to use the tiny hose and weird wand to clean up particles that are close to my baseboards. Also...

    Sanitaire PowerForce

The bagged Bissell PowerForce is a pretty good value for your dollar. Not the best, but it does it's job for the price.

Not worth it: Riccar/Simplicity tandem air uprights

Their vacuums are needlessly complicated with all of the circuit boards and junk, and the bags, which are tiny, are crazy expensive. If I was going to buy a German made vacuum, I would buy a SEBO.

Not worth it: Riccar/Simplicity tandem air uprights

I think Miele is quite overhyped. They're not awful, but they're basically the bagged equivalent of a Dyson.

    worst vacuum

Well, most newer Aerus Electrolux machines pull at least 110 CFM from the nozzle, and my 2011 Kirby Sentria pulls around 150 CFM from the nozzle. Until a robot can meet that level of performance, I will view them an nothing more than an automated stick vac.

The Ideal suction AIr Flow numbers for a Vacuum

Anything under 80 CFM is not great. I think the upper limit would be when the vacuum is so strong that it becomes extremely hard to move.

Vacuum HACKING! (Using a vacuum with another brand's attachments without modification)

I use my Kirby attachments on almost anything that they will fit on.

    worst vacuum

Until a robot has at least 110 CFM of airflow, I'm sticking with a traditional upright. The technology has not matured enough yet. I'm sure that someday a robot would be a viable replacement for a traditional upright or canister vacuum, but as of 2020, full size traditional vacuums are the best...

    Sanitaire PowerForce

I was browsing the Sanitaire website when I came across these peculiar vacuums. They seem to be standard Bissell PowerForce vacuums, but with a metal handle. There also was a rebranded Simplicity Freedom Cordless Upright. I know Bissell bought Sanitaire after Eureka was sold to Midea, but this...

    worst vacuum

May I remind everyone that this is a vacuum cleaner forum, not a car forum? Also, I don't see high end vacuums going anywhere anytime soon. Robot vacuums cannot match the performance of a full size upright.

    Central Vacuum Mufflers

I know the Aerus Electrolux central vacs have an additional muffler that sits on top of the motor compartment. It's a plastic disc with a layer of thick foam inside.

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

The Bissell PowerForce Bagged is a good bang for your buck. Couple it with some HEPA bags and you've got yourself a decent little vacuum.

    Central Vacuum Mufflers

It's actually a special type of thin walled pipe made specifically for central vac installs.

Bissell PowerForce Compact 2112 Honest Review

I actually used to have one like that. It was a trash pick, and I had it until one of the wheels broke off. Performance wise, it was similar to the newer model. They were barely worth $35, let alone $50. I'd definitely shell out the extra $6 for the bagged full size upright.

Does anyone cringe at their vacuum conversations when they were a kid?

I've been into vacuums since the very beginning. I even dug up some old pictures! Pic 1: 18 month old me playing with a toy vacuum Pic 2: My collection when I was about 6 years old Pic 3: Me and a Bissell Lift-Off Revolution when I was about 6 years old Pic 4: Me at 7 years old vacuuming the...
