Lol I work for the kirby service center. The owner can't figure out how to adjust it for that carpet type.. We've tried two brand new ones on her carpet and they ratchet worse than the one she has. I dunno where to turn.

If you use your vacuum regularly you should change your belt around every 9 months... Its the cheapest way to make sure you have the best agitation all the time.

Found a New in Box 3 amp motor for the 170a broom. Part number 54222.   $30 including shipping takes it.  

To be honest, they could never figure out what was wrong with it... You'd be vacuuming along and pull it into something and if the force was enough to make the dolly stop moving the vacuum would just shut off.. I sent it to have warranty work done 3 times, each time they replaced little stuff...

As much as I want to recommend a Riccar vacuum, you aren't going to find a Riccar with a brush bar clutch under 400.... Royal makes a very good vacuum that will fit what you need. It is the Royal UR30090. It has a 12 foot stretch hose, a brush bar you can shut off and a manually adjustable head...

compamac unless you know of a way to have UPS do it for free, they charge a flat rate of 41 lbs to ship that size of box... So, no, its not wayyyy too much.
