    General Electric model 801

Thank you Hans... Just the reply I was looking for! I is undergoing its restoration as we speak. The motor compontents and such are in excellent condition, other then being dirty. When David Watters was around. I played with his brown 2 speed Deluxe model. I remember thinking to my self...

    General Electric model 801

Yesterday I went out to do some what I thought was window shopping at some of the places that I frequent. One of which is a antique store that I have been going into for years. It is not a antique mall, but it is a store where I am certain the owners buy items, and people have some things there...

An excellent find: "Kenmore" Hoover Ranger!

The story I was told long ago is.... That there was short window of time at one point, where Sears had no one to produce their Kenmore vacuum cleaners. It was a battle between Whirlpool leaving and Panasonic coming. So Hoover filled the short term void with the uprights, and Eureka handled the...

    Vac question

I use.... Plain, clear, unscented Hand Sanitizer. I works like a charm every time. I is because it has a high rubbing alcohol content, but it is easy to control and work with. It doesn't soak into your rag and keep evaporating like the rubbing alcohol does.

    Eureka ESP Self Propelled

I have a VERY rare, early verstion of this... That is dated 1976. Mine has the vinyl bag, and only has a 3.5 amp motor.

    Orange Cream Deluxe Convertible

I happen to like this model of plastic Convetible. I might say though, the date on the paper bag is a patent date for that style of Type C bag. Your U4189 is actually from about 1979 or 1980 or even '81. Hoover went to plastic in 1979, if it would have been from 1976, it would still me metal.

Questions about my "new" Electrolux Model G

Here is a pic of my... Bronze G with its matching PN. The other thing I notice about yours is the placement of the PN plug. typically on every other bronze G I have ever seen the plug is down, right in front of the front wheel on the side.  That must have been a modification made during the...

    Hoover Convertible U4107

Your model U4107.... Was made anywhere between 1977 and 1980 approximately. There were two slight variations with one difference.  One had a metal base, and the other is a plastic base. This model was made when Hoover was making that change to the Convertible causing the outer machine to look...

    Rainbow R1024 Powernozzle find.

actually Ben.... I would be more like 1976. In 1976 Eureka went from a base plate that just snapped on and off the head, to one that was mounted with two screws. Also, the elbow that the wand goes into was made out of metal in 1972 through 1975, was then changed to plastic. Furthermore the...

    1954 Westinghouse Upright

Another Westy that I have never seen. I have one that I have never seen another one exactly like it.  I like that one because it has the paper bag system.

    Concept II with tool converter?🤔

I had also seen some of the.... Lower line Convertibles too offer as a price "With Tools".   Also as far as Eureka is concerned. I have paperwork that shows all the mid range and lower line models with tools at extra cost, but where the top of the line machine is offered complete with a...

    Craig's List Special

You can only.... Date Hoover machines by the serial number with machines made after 1987. So since this one was made in or around 1980, that is not possible.

    Eureka Powerteam Model 1289

This is the... Picture he was trying to send. Which is a ad for the first Empress II from 1969.   I will also include some literature for the first powerteam Empress II from 1972.

Hoover convertible high performance making a weird noise

No Gabe.... This is what I am talking about.

Hoover convertible high performance making a weird noise

Yes.... It is two Phillip head screws on either side if the base, kind of towards the front wheels. That's it, then the hood should lift off.  The motor lifts out when the 4 screws on the base of the motor are removed.   In a slightly off subject question...Is that your Kenmore Twinfan...
