Were there any vintage upright stick vacs made with a powered brush roll? I am looking for something no later than the 70's to replace my modern eureka.

Hoover did make two versions of the Quik-Broom that had the Powermatic nozzle (the first being model S2037, and then the second one, the S2043)... effectively making it a two-motor machine. Montgomery Ward also sold one as their "Power II" Jiffy-Vac in the same time period you mention.
Regina had a similar model called the Electrikbroom "Power Team."

Sunbeam made one, I can't think of the name of the model. It was an aqua or turquoise color. Judging from the color I'm guessing 60's, maybe into the 70's. Anyone that has old catalogs might be able to timeline it better.
So
I'm sure this cleaner is from an era later than the 70's, but it certainly has the cool "vintage" vacuum flavor with its direct air configuration. The Advance Mighty Maid was essentially a Vorwerk vacuum cleaner. It's cool but very hard to come by. I've only ever seen one in person.

Boswell and Regina both made them as well. I haven’t ever seen the bissell in person but know it exists, but I do have two of the Regina machines.

My personal pick for you would be the Regina Electrikbroom POWERTEAM (or, from the time period you prefer, the Electrikbrush). This is one of the more recent Electrikbrush models:
According to Jeff Parker (hoover1060), Regina's was the first example of a cleaner that you mention, and the best, while Hoover's design wasn't quite executed (as it tended to lift the carpet too much with the Powermatic head and also had more restricted airflow, not to mention a very small disposable bag!) and weighed almost the same as their Dial-A-Matic!

It was a Regina Powerteam vacuum that I used to have that died the weird death after picking up wire clippings during my kit building days.I liked the thing-too bad the intake nozzle the floor tools fit on wasn't metal-than the death wouldn't have happened.I believe mine had both the powernozzle and a hard floor tool as I remember it-bought it from KMart at PennMar shopping center in Foresteville, MD near Wash DC in the 70's.

out of all of them the Regina is the best, Very powerful and will feel as powerful as an upright and grooms well. The Regina is the easiest one to find out of all the ones listed. They came out with their power team broom in 1978 and ran it through the early 90's when Regina and Oreck collaborated and came out with a totally new version. That last version now sported a bag and was made under the Oreck name till the early 2000's
Rick, I think that Sunbeam was called the Touch n go or something like that. I have a 1965 Alden's catalog you gave me the first time you came to Ks. for a visit that has them.
In addition to the ones already listed, Bissell had an ever more deluxe model that was a square body (almost a full size upright) with a pull open bag door and a power nozzle. I believe it's called the Power foot. I have 2 of them in cream and orange. One of mine has the original box and manual. it's dated either 76 or 78. I'll try and get pics tonight.
