    Royal Power Tank motor substitution

Oh, you know, surprisingly many dead motors can be brought back to life at a decent motor shop for not a lot of money. You might look into that. What exactly went wrong with it? I have a spare motor that came out of a late 90's PowerTank. It needs new bearings, but I'll put them in and you can...

    Royal Power Tank motor substitution

Many motors will fit but the Royal motors have different airflow specs from the others. I stuck a new motor out of a Kenmore (body cracked in shipping) in a Powertank, and it was not near as powerful as the original. Mind you, the Kenmore motor actually looked bigger and stronger, but it still...

    gues what!!

Ha I had the thread in a small window so I didn't see the just kidding part for a second. I was thinking "since when did they make a toaster?" Lol that's awesome. Make sure to take lots of pictures.

    Electrolux Thrift Model

Heck, I think the 7 foot hoses are short. My Diamond Jubilee has a very short hose. The other canisters I have (all PowerTanks) have a few 8 foot hoses, but mostly 10 foot hoses.

    Heads Up!

Hmm you don't see them with the power nozzle very often.

    Electroluxes

You guys are talking about the 4 layer filter bags, right? I have a Diamond Jubilee that I love, but even with a fresh bag the suction is nothing compared to my new favorite vacuums, the Royal Powertanks. It still cleans well enough for most tasks, but when I want to vacuum really deep into the...

    Dometic 245 canister/European Electrolux Z345

What are the issues with the motor? Electric motor shops can rebuild almost anything, and can even rewind the motor if it is shorted.

    Aerus Dealer

We don't sell anything else from them but vacuums so I guess while we're a certified electrolux dealer, we aren't an Aerus dealer. We sell the new style electrolux vacuums, but not the old tanks. We haven't restocked the uprights because we sell many more Sebos than luxes.

    Found a Hoover bag vacuum

Well, today I was rummaging through an old shed on the store's property looking for an old computer to butcher when I found a Hoover bag vacuum. It was way in the back in the dark, and I almost missed it. I saw the outline under a pile of old computers and I thought "what the hell is that?" I...

    Vintage Royal: Five-Hundred Bucks!

Yeah, I like Royals and I think they're worth their price but... that is a pretty new prince and they aren't exactly rare...

Toggle Electric Switch on Hoover Tempo Upright

They're just cheap. Shoddy Chinese parts don't hold up as well. The switch on the Eureka is much higher quality (carling I believe), so you would never see it arc.

Toggle Electric Switch on Hoover Tempo Upright

Replacing the switch with one of higher quality will solve the problem, but I would just leave it for now. I doubt it would shock you. What you're seeing is the current jumping across the contacts of the switch for a brief moment. The current wants to keep flowing, and you've broken the...

    Eureka 500 canister help

Don't worry about it. You should always keep the line and neutral connected properly on components, but in your vacuum, either way will be fine.

    Found some things today!

That Electrolux switch is my favorite vacuum switch of all time. There's a great feel to it.

Let's Compare: Eureka Smart Vac & Hoover Windtunnel Supreme Bagged

Actually, while I would vote for the Hoover, the Eureka's suction diverter dial is a better system. Hoover plasticrap vacuums leak all over the place because of their hose design. The Eureka, while with a littler hose, uses a more sealed and direct path for the air to flow. I've got to say...

    The Guardsman FINALLY Came!!

Ahh, very nice. The Guardsman is really one of my favorites. I think you made the right choice! Funny about what you said above. We have had 2 Guardsmans and a Conquest in stock for years and they haven't moved. It's funny how people buy TTIs new plastic crap and skip over the last quality...

    Royal Upright Help Needed

Oh, the colors are different in that motor. Wire the yellow wire from the headlight to the rest of the white wires, then insulate the remaining yellow wire well. Well, although Royals are still one of the best vacuums, the newer-style motors aren't nearly as good. If you take care of them...

    A hoser's hose bonanza...

Nice vacuums! I certainly do love those "powerhouse" powertanks! I had never seen that turquoise one before, interesting.

    Royal Upright Help Needed

Well, first off, make sure your bulbs are rated for 110. Sometimes store will sell 220 bulbs for whatever reason. Secondy, check the contacts in the socket and clean them if they are dirty. If the motor was installed correctly, all of the line wires(black) are connected, as are the neutral from...
