    Hoover decade 80 repair

You have to lubricate the lever before it can slide up and down correctly. This is common on old machines where dust makes the lever stick. Lubricate it at the point where the adjustor slide meets the lever.

Just sent you a text. I can get your Electrolux up and running in no time for you. I love Electrolux.

Let's see your favorite Electrolux cleaners

I thought it would be fun for us to share a photo of our favorite Electrolux cleaners from our collection. I am partial to the model G, the bronze colored version from 1966 through 1968. Here is my model G automatic that was rescued from an upper closet at an estate sale. Only one disposable bag...

    GE Dishwasher bit the dust

I recently had to replace my 33 year old KitchenAid with a brand new Sharp dishwasher (stainless inside and out). I love how the new machines sit in their own 'pan' so if they drip it doesn't leak onto the floor. I also love the front connection for the water line. So easy to get to. I...

Can I replace the motor on my Electrolux L (1979)?

I'd be more than happy to rebuild that motor for you. Here's how to take it out: take off the screw holding the cord retainer, just forward of the switch. Next, remove the screw (one is right there under that cord retainer) and the one screw underneath the machine. Holding one of the rear...

For Sale: Kirby white & tan cord

I have three of those cords. They went with the model 562 Kirby. I know they are going for a fortune, but I wanted to see exactly how much before I offered mine for sale. Been collecting for 43 years, so I have tons of old stuff.

Can I replace the motor on my Electrolux L (1979)?

Yes, the motor can be removed, rebuilt, and replaced without too much trouble. I completely rebuild the motors on my own Electrolux cleaners in my collection, as well as rebuild motors for a living.

    Rainbow vs Sebo/Miele

dylanmc Price and Quality do not go hand in hand. Canister vacuums should make the chore of using the above-the-floor attachments very easy. The ones that do not just get cursed every time I have to use the dusting brush. Twenty years ago, I sold Sebo. Among other brands. I never was "sold"...

    A strange one- Vortech Force...

The UK website was GREAT in selling me bags for my Vortech which came to me from eBay and a Canadian seller. I also bought a new upholstery tool from the UK website and it was dispatched immediately. I love my Vortech.

    Rainbow vs Sebo/Miele

Both Miele and Sebo are overpriced in the US, they are far more reasonable in Europe. Repair parts for Miele can be outrageously expensive. Disposable bags for Miele are quite expensive per bag, there are non-genuine Miele bags that work just as well for much less. Miele vacuums are very...

    Vortech force

Rob: I actually didn't know how much they sold for at retail. I bought mine from eBay (came from Canada) for $150 with postage, so I thought it was a good deal. I totally agree about the foam block at the exhaust, like the square-bodied Kenmore canisters had. I agree a Hepa exhaust filter...

    Vortech force

I also own the new Vortech Force, the XR3000. It's an awesome machine, much lighter than the original model, but still has all the great features like the cord winder and the pleated HEPA pre-motor filter. Now they use HEPA closed-top disposable bags as well. I love the variable speed motor...

    Electrolux HEPA bags

The same company who makes the Clean Obsessed and Perfect bags (they are identical) also makes the genuine Aerus type C bags. That same company ALSO makes the discovery-style upright for Aerus. The least expensive way to buy the Hepa bags for your Lux is to buy the Clean Obsessed or Perfect...

Straight suction canisters vs powered brush canisters.

Some of the best straight suction rug nozzles ever tested by the old VCCC were the Filter Queen, Compact, Rexair, and Kenmore.

    Vintage Electrolux recommendations?

The last style of metal bodied machines are really exciting.

    What does this year hold?

2025 is going to be a year of great change for me. For one, I'm retiring after 44 years in the vacuum business. I'm selling almost all of the collection (have already sold more than half) but keeping 40 canisters and 10 uprights to carry me through the rest of my life. There are several new...

    Trade-in piles!

Photo one, with the stack of model 30's - also has brand new Power Nozzles and Automatic F boxes. This had to be around 1960. You'll note the cords on the PN-1's were long and had the three hose clips.

Electrolux Model S - CHECK THIS OUT!!

The information about the model S is engraved on the inside of the bag door. It uses the same motor as the Automatic F model, which are the standard Elux carbon brushes with the screw hole in the 90 degree flag

    Vacuum Store rugs.

Those rugs are not inexpensive. I paid over $100 for a Miele rug for my store more than 18 years ago. As I'm retiring the end of April, it's good to know there's a market for my vacuum rugs (Dyson, Oreck, Hoover, etc.). eBay here we come. Say 'cheese' girls.
