    Model LX brushes

Hey Andy, Do you know how to remove the bottom part of the motor where the fan is? I removed the 4 screws and the bottom just turns but will not come off when I try to pull it down. What is holding it?

    Model LX brushes

The back of the machine? I put a new one in and also a clean bag. I have another LX and suction is way more stronger.

    Model LX brushes

Thanks for looking into that Variac, but I used the dimmer switch instead and ran it for 3o minutes at half the voltage. However, it did not improve the suction at full voltage when I installed it back into the machine. The brushes were not sparking too much so I assumed they seated ok. I...

    Model LX brushes

I think the best bet for me is cutting the voltage and letting it run, but not sure how I would do that. What would I hook up the wires to? Would you know? Never done this before. Thanks.

    Model LX brushes

Then what would cause weak suction? A dirty motor? I am waiting for the new brushes to arrive and I cleaned the motor and fans. A load of dust and dirt was blown out, so I am hoping that the new brushes will improve it.

    Model LX brushes

Carbon Brushes I hope so Andy. I have never done this before. Do new carbon brushes improve the suction? I removed the back to see the brushes and one of them was not sparking while I had it on. Does that mean it is worn or just broken? How do you know if they are worn?

Cord Winder Well, I got the cord winder to fit on the LX by removing the metal that is stationary and attaches onto the back of the vacuum. I like that ring going around it. How does it look?

Cord Winder I bought a cord winder but I believe it is for an LXI since it has where you can swing it open without taking it off and the LXI has a different rear than the LX. I don't think this one will fit the LX, correct? Are these interchangeable with different models? The description on...

    Model xxx Sold

Why I sell It is definitely an LX. The model number is on the top near the handle. See the pic. The bottom has the knob. Regarding the selling, I really do not collect and keep vacuums in my basement. I try to buy a vacuum cheap, fix it up and sell it. Like the one LX I sold, I bought...

NOT LXI Hey Andy, Sorry... It wasn't an LXI but just an LX. It had the rear wheels so I thought it was an LXI. It looks like the LX 1954 version since it has the silver electrolux name. Here is a picture of it.

I sold my Electrolux Model xxx too. It was only listed for one day. It does not have the original crevice tool, small brush and the plug end as well. The rug attachment does not have the lower rubber bumper too. I also sold it with a new cloth bag as well as the old one. It is amazing how...

LOL Let's see a picture of yours. The dusting brush had the ring in it. Or are you talking about the ring outside of the brush? Only thing like you said was the replaced plug end and the crevice tool color is wrong. What color is the crevice tool for this machine?

    Model L

Replaced Wheels I replaced the wheels with the original kind for the Model L. I found these on eBay. On the axle where I had to hack saw the end off, I drilled a small hole in the axle and then used a small washer and a black wood screw to keep the wheel on. The color is lighter than the ones...
