GE Swivel Top Canister. When Was It Made?

Hi Mike, I did some "data and photo digging" and assembled the following models list, photos and ads for you and others as there is such limited Swivel-Top information shared online. Btw, G-E's markets in other countries had their own model IDs and stylings. US G-E Swivel-Tops/Roll-Arounds...

    Liberty Model C

Innovation made it beginning c.1915 (presumably Model A) according to advertisements. Then in the '20s the Electric Vacuum Cleaner Company made its version (model number unknown). Would be an apt model name for U. S. 250th Anniversary edition vacuum cleaner and floor conditioner models next year.

3.0 Eureka Shipping and Production History Pre-1947

The shipping record lists the first shipment of the D-171 as 1934, but the attached hood patent, which looks like a D-171 match, was filed in 1941. This corresponds to the 1941 Modern Plastics award won by George Walker as stated in the ad.

    Eureka S250A

The only difference I have been able to find between the S250 and S250A Super Automatics is that the latter was factory-equipped with the disposable bag assembly; whereas it had been a customer option when Eureka introduced paper bags in 1949. The S250 was shipped from the factory from October...

    Eureka S250A

I agree; in fact, it seems to me that some floor & surface care appliance companies have mimicked the car industry's period colors, model names, and customer options. That may also be true for other appliance manufacturers.

    Question about Eureka Bravo models

Skystrick (and others), In case you're still around and for others who are interested, I found a model list at shop.usaclean.com and looked up each model number in a digital newspaper database to compile the attached list of models and their main features. If I located an online photo I also...

    Eureka S250A

Here are online photos of what appears to be a 1960s refurb of a S250 or S250A:

Thought so. If you collect them over time it will be easier on your wallet. You might consider adding floor polisher-scrubbers as you find them, too.

    The pumpkins have landed.

I'm unsure if these Eurekas are technically colored pumpkin or tangerine (two colors along with Big Bad Orange named in a 1976 Eureka news article), but the color brings to mind the Festal canned yellow pumpkin my mom used in her delicious Thanksgiving pies. Here they are—Dial-A-Nap model-type...

    NZ Electrolux machines

Thanks for the reposts. I have never heard of big box stores taking vacuum cleaner trade-ins. I hope that the potential purchase of the Z89 and the later one work out. Before long you will be able to have your own vacuum cleaner museum. Are you aiming to collect one of each OZ model & version?

Attached is an online photo of the Volta U268, which is quite similar to the Husqvarna (there were no other photos).

It may be that the ZE3 was introduced and/or tested in NZ, but it may also have appeared at the same time in other markets such as the UK. Since the French market had the ZE34, it must have delayed introducing the ZE3. It's unfortunate that no one that lives in most of those other countries...

    Favorite central/canister cleaning head?

I like the 'L' shape of the Electrolux power nozzles and the performance of the Eureka Roto-Matic 1230 Series with Vibra-Groomers and Vibra-Groomer IIs (have yet to try the successor series with V-G III).
