    Estate sale Royal upright

No Dirt Devil Roommate while I was there... I went back this morning and offered the guy $25 for the Royal, he said that he couldn't sell it at that price until 2:00. I went back at 1:00 and brought it up to the register with a box full of attachments, a hose, and a bunch of throw away bags and...

    Estate sale Royal upright

They wanted $125 for the Kirby - and the "vacuum on a stick" wasn't the Dirt Devil - it was light blue and white, took G bags, and said "Hoover" on it.

    Estate sale Royal upright

I saw this Royal at an estate sale this morning (they also had a newer Kirby, a Filter Queen, and and one of those lightweight Hoovers that are more like a dustbuster on a stick)- They Royal looked to have a Hoover A bag in it... is that what these take? They were asking $75 for it but I may go...

    naked Hoover 1070

To remove the paint, I just took everything off the base, took it to my wire wheel to strip off the paint, then polished it like a Kirby. Thanks for the compliments!

    Rebuilt Kirby 505

I bet everyone who works in the "rebuild" department at Kirby has nice original 505s. They probably fight over who gets to "rebuild" them whenever they come in...

    Craigslist finds...

I found a guy who sent me this email: "I have a Cadillac canister with the hose (no attachments) from the late 40’s to mid 50’s. I have a hoover constellation, a Eureka commercial upright, a Royal upright and canister (pony tank) a Eureka swivel top canister from the 50’s, a lewyt canister...

    Cloth/Woven vacuum hoses

I've used plasdip too (with good results) except I've poured it through the inside of the hose. A little messy, but if you're careful, you can't see it and it works!

    GE Roll-Easy question

Does anyone have a picture of the exhaust side of the roll easy and how it goes together? I can't figure out if there's a screw missing or something else. I've got the cover and a circular plate... Thanks!

GE Roll-Easy damaged in shipping ;(

This GE Roll Easy was damaged during shipping (I think it was packed sufficiently, but still... it's some old plastic!). The plastic around the hose inlet and handle cracked and crumbled - Does anyone have any suggestions on repairing this or has it become a "for parts" machine? Thanks.

    Fairfax...

wow.... I've seen a number of them come up on shopgoodwill.com for $5 (plus shipping) - I think "half price" would still be too much.

    naked Hoover 1070

I stripped the paint off of this to repaint it and thought it looked kind of nice with a bare metal base... I just might leave it this way.

    Hoover Convertible - beyond repair

Thanks Kenny, I figured it out - what I couldn't figure out is how the rear axle got out of there to begin with? I also tried and tried to free up that lower bearing, but it just wouldn't loosen up enough. I ended up putting a donor motor in the vacuum from an 80's Hoover I had (with the metal...
