    Hey guys I'm back!

Thanks! Your machines look great too! Nice 450 you have there and your 700 appears to have the original bumper as well. This photo is rather old, since then I've done some small things like find a new bag thanks to a friend and also replaced the cord. Still much to do, but money is quite tight...

    Hey guys I'm back!

You have a pretty sweet collection there Brando. I see some good Hoovers there as well, nice! Welcome back aboard? I'm still fairly new to this site myself. LOL However the guys here have been great. My parents use a Kirby Diamond G as their daily driver since they bought it new. As for me...

    Hoover 700 help needed!

Glad to hear you got her running again Ken! Can't wait to see photos of your progress. As for the brush strips, as CCM stated, they aren't too difficult to install.. You can either move the "eye" to the opposite direction with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull up on the old strips with the...

    Model 700 (See Photos)

Bumper details That doesn't appear to be the original bumper. I have a model 700 with part of its original bumper still installed. These machines have 6 rivets on the bumper, one on the front left and one on the front right. Then toward the rear of the machine at the ends of the bumper, there...

    Help: Hoover Model 700 Bag

I hear ya on that. I don't believe they'll have anything for the coffee can Hoovers. And the only things I have close enough to the original patterns would be these photo shots... And the fact they're made of Black Ronac material. No chemicals or anything of the sort. I have no idea what the...

    Help: Hoover Model 700 Bag

700 Bag Response I follow the Henry Company on eBay. Like you said they only have the convertible type bags at the moment. I have been looking on and off since I bought my vacuum to no luck. I almost won these yesterday but someone out bid me at the very last second... Granted they show which...

    Help: Hoover Model 700 Bag

I just had the cord on my Hoover Model 700 replaced with a new black 25ft one, and its looking better than ever! However one thing that still bothers me is the unoriginal, faded and hole ridden cloth bag that's currently on it. I'm wondering if anyone has and original bag or any bag in general...

    Hoover 700 help needed!

Just glad to help! I don't have any sadly. Might have to do some eBay searching there, I'm sure someone here has a parts machine. It doesn't have to be a 700 cover, one from a 725, or a 750 will also fit in its place. -Alex

    Beautiful Hoover portable Find!!!!

Just a little advice Might want to service the motor with new grease/oil. A lot of these end up dying off due to lack of/old lubrication. My Portable almost bit the dust when I heard the motor slow down and screech and shut it off immediately after that. Thankfully I shut it down quickly and...

    Hoover 700 help needed!

Regarding your 700 The Model 700 is just plain jane! They originally come from the factory in a rather dull looking aluminum finish, most of us just polish them up to make them look a little nicer! There was an add on for it called the "Dirt Searcher" basically replacing the top cap with a...

    Replacing Cord on a 700.

I was wondering if there's a way to replace the cord on my Hoover Model 700. (Its not an original cord and plug) The cord itself is in okay shape, but a little short for my home. Not to mention it was simply spliced into the top where the cord protrudes from the handle. I understand it can be...

    Hoover 700 help needed!

Service and Cleaning Information Nice to meet another new Model 700 owner! They're tough little machines. I do agree with everything CoffeeCanMan said. However, mind you this machine is about 90 years old...Heaven knows when it was last serviced. This is a ball bearing motor so oil isn't...

    Hoover 700 Special

She's coming along pretty good. You're certainly going all out on your 700 special. The badge on mine was pretty trashed, so I just went with a "Patina" look on my machine. A light polish but still retaining its character, traveling 89 years through time. Everything mechanical was gone through...

    Video: Hoover model 700

Brush roll noise response Ahh....It would appear that the tension washers are missing. I bent the end caps as straight as possible and was still puzzled. The lack of tension washers might be the reason why its been been making noise, since everything else is there. Thanks for the advice.

Thank you kindly! and thank you for watching! Minor stuff to work on in terms of the noisy brush roll but other than that she runs pretty smooth.

    Video: Hoover model 700

I finally got around to making a video of my 700. Before it gets pointed out, Yes I know the brushroll is pretty noisy I've did what I could to fix it, thin washers, realigning, but it goes right back to being noisy, I don't know what to tell ya. Anyways, hope you guys like the video. Its been a...

Replacement Brushes for the Hoover Model 700 Trick

Good news! As I sat on my workbench looking at the Kirby Heritage II brushes I had ordered for my Hoover model 700, I hatched an idea. I shaved away at them with my hobby knife and some sandpaper, using the old (somewhat good) brush as a reference guide. The spring that came with the Kirby...
