    Hoover Model 700 from 1926

Hi there. Here are some photos of my Model 700. This was in such good condition that I didnt need to restore it, just give it a good buff! Note the original handle (Made of metal with ebony inserts and all part of the on/off switch assembly!!) and rubber furniture guard. The bag is from the USA...

Vacuums for Sale (Pics) all must go.

Models 29 and 63 Hi there. Just going off track a bit. Over in the UK we have the Model 638 which is like the model 63. Im interested to see the model 29 which sounds like it should be much older, but it looks very like the 63! Did you have any other models which looked like the Model 63? Were...

    Polishing a 652 motor cover

Polishing plastic hoods Hi Nick, Here's my routine: STEP 1 If there are any scratches more than surface deep (normally there are!), first you have to sand the hood with black wet and dry glasspaper. Its worth testing a small area where it wont show first before doing the whole hood! Even...

A terrific trio of 1960s Hoovers

Thanks for the comments! Truckerx, the pink one is the most original - as far as I can remember it is all original, even the paintwork. The 2 652As I have completely stripped down, repainted and reassembled, and I polished the hoods. Paul, love your blue ones. I used to have the 6525 at one...

A terrific trio of 1960s Hoovers

Here are the first 3 UK Hoover model 652 series 1959 - 1967. I did have a blue 652 from early 1970s but I really like these first 3 because they are totally colour co-ordinated. The later ones used off white handles and rubber guard. Maybe Hoover was cutting costs. I did use artistic licence...

Hoover Model 541 Supply Parts Catalog - page 1

The cloth bag you got off the 541 Jack! Hi Jack. That cloth bag looks interesting. Is it for a Model 160? You were lucky to get a 541 with original foot switch. Most were been replaced by the old style round brown Bakelite light switch which fitted perfectly. My theory is that there was a...

Hoover Graveyard - Abbey Vacs Basement 1993

I know what you mean! It is evocative, and some of this stuff did get chucked. But I did rescue some of them (like the pink, green and blue model 652s and the model 262 on the right). It is also where I got 3,yes, 3!, model 638s. I just wish I could go back there. I would always look forward to...

Hoover Graveyard - Abbey Vacs Basement 1993

I took this photo back in 1993 soon after discovering this shop in Hampton Wick, now sadly long gone.

I missed the pink 652 thread but here's mine!

Good job! She looks so much better now! I love the way you rescued it. There must be many old vacs languishing in skips around the country. Sigh! Looks like between us we might own the earliest and latest 652s. All the best for your search for the pink bag and flex. The grey 652A bag looks...

I missed the pink 652 thread but here's mine!

Excellent! What a great machine, and with the original plasticised bag - what year is it from? Love the hood and the reflection at the front. You must have a good camera. Its really sharp picture, almost like a painting.

Thanks guys Jack, I still have the pink bail so I can put it back for that totally original look! em-tor64, I think it was only the late pink 652 in the UK which had the cloth bag. The early UK 652s had a plasticised pink bag. All the best, Jon
