Isn't there a door on the cover of that nozzle that you lift up and plug the attachment hose into?

    THE JET-FLO LIVES!!!!

The no-frills 5200 series is great for a quick clean. It's just enough vacuum cleaner to get the job done.

    Panasonic Upright

I know what you're saying about the Vac Shop thing, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a 7300 with metal underneath, and it was indeed a black Performance Plus. Panasonic made ALOT of different 7300's. We sold them new, the burnt-orange model, one of the last of the series. There was a good markup...

I went tire-kicking in the vacuum dept. at Sears

Sears seems to go through different ad phases, each with their own theme. In the 80's and early 90's, it was "ruggedness". Remember all the black and red "Heavy Duty" machines? 90's and early 00's it was "performance". Rounded off styling and features that made cleaning "fast". Alot of weird...

Kenmore Progressive direct drive pedal repair

Here's sort of a 3D view representation of what I'm talking about. Note that some of the main bodies won't have the small hole for the screw. You have to carefully pre-drill and countersink for this.

Kenmore Progressive direct drive pedal repair

That'll do it. Nice fix. When I worked at a Sears service center, we saw alot of Kenmore uprights with worn pedal catches on the main body. Common problem especially with the Progressive uprights. There was a fix we made for them using the thin sheet metal from the fans of bad motors. And...

Another pic. Runs pretty well. Needs cleanup. Hose looks okay, didn't find any holes. Three cleaning attachments are there. I put a new bag in and tested it. Motor feels strong.

    Panasonic Upright

I'm guessing that's a V7341. Not quite TOL. There was a V7398 (and a few others) that would have a variable speed selector, in addition to the dirt sensor/ lights. Some of the better models had a metal agitator with needle bearing end caps and a bottom cover with a metal plate.

I've Welcome The Garry Into Our Household

I've read somewhere that these Garry machines are a Simplicity Freedom with just a different cover and bag design.

Question about the electrolux model 2100

Be nice to these early plastic cans. Some of the material on these goes bad and just breaks apart.

    unknown Hoover

Interesting. Looks as if Hoover utilized the same method of keeping the handle together as their canister wands.

    powermate jr.

Actually, the earlier PM Jr. takes the same belt as the newer type. A glorified rubber band. The newest PM Jr I'm not sure about yet.
