Electrolux Model B21 And B27 Shampooer

Bumper removal It's been a little more than a year since I last changed one, but I believe I used a small flat bladed screw driver to get the bumper started, and then just kept working my way down the unit as the bumper slipped off. You have to remember that the bumper has a lip that folds...

Electrolux Model B21 And B27 Shampooer

Gears are broken One or both of the two front gears are broken, the back gear hardly ever breaks as it was made of a stronger, more durable plastic since it is the main drive gear. There are four screws on the bottom of the unit, remove these and the top lifts off. Next you'll see the cord...

    New Aerus Upright Vacuum

Aerus upright new more powerful motor than before In regards to reliability and durability, the Lux uprights have stood the test of time. But, I do agree with some of the posters, the early versions were completely gutless, and would get clogged up at the bend because they just lacked enough...

    Simplicity and Riccar

Patrick, It would be interesting to hear your comments on these canisters as how do they compare to other high end models such as miele, lux, etc. Vernon

SCVACUUMGUY I was of the impression that in the US constitution, there was a thing called freedom of speech. I did not know that this website was edited from the Kremlin.

Electrolux Diamond Jubilee - where to get a new motor?

New motor/better filtration If you want to put a new motor in, you can find ones that will fit well on ebay. The motor you have is the LF series motor. Every LF motor I've ran across the airflow wasn't all that great. It seemed that the ones that have the black plastic holding the carbon...

Today's Pic - Eureka Golden Crown

Eureka Golden Crown replacement bags???? My grandmother had one. My father is now using it in his house. About 15 or so years ago, he had the hose replaced. I can't remember if the original was braided or if it was vinyl. Something sticks in the back of my mind that it was a green plastic...

    Tristar or Miracle Mate?

"What is your opinion on the lindhuas power nozzle?" I've got the 12 inch wide version adapted to fit my lux machines, the Lindhaus is probably one of the better built and better cleaning nozzles on the market.

A Canadian Masterpiece - And A Dream Machine Finally Obtained!!

Series 80 filters still available Fred, Aerus still has the 80 series filters available in Canada, part number #30162 if memory is correct. They come in packages of two. An Aerus dealer in the US might be able to order these for you. Some US parts aren't available to Canadian dealers, so...

    Lux Guardian Ultra

Airflow Improvement The new Guardian Ultra has much improved airflow as compared to the older Guardian/Epic8000/Renaisance. When the older series was using a two stage motor, you could put this motor in either the "R" series, or an epic/2100, and the epic/2100 would blow the R series away in...

    Lux Guardian Ultra

"it has a very high-pitched" Charles, This is very typical of the single stage motors that are used in most machines today. I'm assuming it's from the excessive rpms, ie 30,000 vs 20,000.

    Lux Guardian Ultra

scvacuumguy In regards to the Guardian Ultra, Legacy, Classic, they all have the same motor.

Best way to measure suction and power?

Suction/Airflow gauge To measure suction you can purchase a suction gauge giving you inches of water lift. To measures air flow, you can purchase a baird air flow meter. The baird air flow meter was primarily designed to be used with kirbys, but will work on most other applications. Any vac...

    Advice Needed on Electrolux 2100

Klectrolux The E2000 had a different motor, it wasn't the typical 5.7 inch diameter, more like 5.1-5.2. Kinda like the motors in the ap series, but different armature. Later E2000 models, the electrical contacts at the bottom of the bag basket and front door disappeared, as they are now...

    new vacuums

Charles, Can't see that gold color hose being original to an AP100, as they are more of a salmony pink color (if that's even a color). I've got an original AP100 on the floor. I'm wondering if it were closer to an AP200?? Haven't seen an ap200 hose in a while, so my color memory is a little...

    new vacuums

Super J sold in Canada Zach, Hate to burst your bubble, but the Super J was sold in Canada. A fellow that used to work for my father at the time, also sold lux on the side, he tried to sell my parents a SJ, but didn't succeed. If memory is correct, I don't think they were made in Canada, but...

    new vacuums

Charles, I have the identical hose that Zach has pictured above for a Z89. I also have a Z89 hose in the blue 1205 colors. I also have the newer OEM vinyl style for the Z89 as well. Yes, the Super J was sold in Canada. Vernon

    Favorite metal body Electrolux

Favorite all metal lux Mine would be any of the 80 series Canadian Luxes. Next on my list would be the blue colored Ultralux Classic model 1521 series.

    Odd spots and squeaky motor

The sleeve bearing could also be getting a little on the dry side considering the vintage of the Super J. Pop the end cap off and lube the pad. Chris also gave you some good advice regarding the other bearing.

miele s5 or Aerus lux guardian ultra

Sealed vs non Sealed Luxes First off, the Guardian Ultra Lux is a sealed unit. The Legacy model is not sealed. The Miele and Lux both have their pluses and minuses. Either way, it comes down to what you are most comfortable with.
