    Vintage General Electric upright

Thank You! It ran pretty good last time I ran it, but it's been a while. The picture was taken when I first got it, and it looks better now. Also replaced the cord as the original had been cut off. Hopefully the hole that you found is either something that can easily be fixed or in a place on...

    Vintage General Electric upright

Nice Find! And having the attachments is like frosting on the cake! Wish I could find a set for mine. I have the Premier version, model PR21. It's just like Tom's, except it has a different bag. Here's a pic. Jeff

Where to find a hoover 305 bag?

Kyle, The two bags you have pictured are absolutely beautiful! The first one, with "The Hoover" in red and the silver trim looks like the exact match for an 825. Let me know if it's still available and price as I would be interested in that one. Thanks, Jeff

Royal 501 vs Dirt Devil 500

Royal vs. Dirt Devil Performance-wise, I believe one would be the same as the other, as they were both built by Royal, both have the same brush roll, and if I'm not mistaken, both have the same motor. However, the Royal 501 would be much more durable than the Dirt Devil, having been made of...

What direct-air vacuums do you like?

I Agree! Kirby, Royal, and other Royal built products (especially Electro-Hygiene) are among my favorites. Both are powerful, durable, and versatile, although Royal tends to be lighter and more maneuverable than Kirby. Both are great for above the floor cleaning, but the Royal attachments are...

Name the movie this vacuum cleaner was in....

No, the label is original to my knowledge. And everything you see in the pic is original to it except the dust brush, which is a replacement. Jeff

    That 50s vibe!

Electrolux AE That's a beautiful AE you have there, Joel! I have one too, but unfortunately I don't have the original hose with mine, I think mine is from a model R or S. My paternal Grandparents used to have an AE and also a Filtex. I used to go to their house with my Aunt on Saturdays and I...

Name the movie this vacuum cleaner was in....

Here's my Revelation model C-2. It was a gift from my good friend and fellow collector Norm Brown when he was downsizing his collection. Thanks again, Norm! Jeff

Royal Metal Uprights - Wheel Maintenance?

Royal Wheel Retainers It depends on the retainer. Older ones had a C-clip retainer, newer ones had a cap type retainer. The C-clip is easily removed with a small screwdriver or pliers and snaps back on. The cap type retainer needs to be pried, working all the way around until you pop it off...

I am now the proud owner of all 5 of my grandparents’ Electroluxes!

Congratulations! How wonderful to have received all 5 of your Grandparents' Electroluxes! All fine and beautiful machines, apparently they took good care of them. I only have one that my Grandparents actually owned in my collection, my maternal Grandmother's Hoover Constellation model 82...

Let’s try this again: The Electrolux Commemorative Edition

Congratulations Keither! Such a wonderful and beautiful find, especially that it's never been used except for demonstration and in the original packaging! Enjoy! Jeff

    1940s Royal Motor Diagram

Sorry, Don't Have a Diagram But I can help you with the oiling procedure. You should have two oil ports, one in front just behind the fan case and one in the back. They will either have a plastic or metal cap on them, and the metal cap will be threaded and have a slot for a screwdriver. Remove...

The Electrolux Model G Custom Rebuilt Canister

Absolutely Beautiful G! And the color scheme reminds me of the Hospital G. I was 9 years old when I first saw a model G demonstrated by my Uncle Red, who was selling them at the time, and it was the latest model in 1965. I have a turquoise one similar to what my Uncle sold, but my power nozzle...

    Hoover Model 619A

Congrats Kieran! Nice find there! Looks like it is the Canadian version of the model 63, which is one of my favorites. Here's a pic of mine. I do have the hose, although it isn't in the pic. Jeff

    Hoover Aerodyne Model 51

Hey Tom, Thanks for the heads-up on the filter. I never knew they had one there, let alone how to get to it. I'll have to check it out and see what condition it's in. It arrived today and looks pretty much as it does in the pic. I did a bit of "preliminary cleanup as I unpacked it but as I said...

    1987 Royal 662

Nice Find Ben! Looks nice but will look better after you give it a good polishing! Can't beat the price, and with a build date in 1987, I'm also assuming it doesn't scream! Congrats on a nice find, Jeff

    Hoover Aerodyne Model 51

Joel, The Aerodyne model 51 WAS the full-size Hoover tank of its time, along with the earlier model 50. The models 41 and 42 were a bit smaller, but if I remember right had the same motor and were just as powerful. Jeff
