Holy Cow!

It's amazing what you've accomplished in only four days, it really looks great! Since it's your first restore job, this vac will always be special to you regardless of how many you eventually end up with, I would guess. Actually your second after the classic III. If you could pick another model to restore, what would that be?

I think I would like to restore a 560, because I like the body lines an design but I would restore any antique vacuum the older the better , i also have the heritage ii to go along with my legend ii both great vacuums.

This is a Hamilton beach that I’m working on, it was missing its bag when I got it but I was lucky the the bag nozzle came with it so I’m able to reproduce a bag and attach it ,I just have to make a bag for it and silk screen the logo back on it, or get lucky a find an original bag.

Thanks bikerray
I was lucky when I bought it the brush was in good shape with little wear, but I did have to repaint the wood on it.
The only problem I have is the date of this hand vac, everywhere I look I can’t seem to find out date of manufacture , I’m thinking it’s a mid to late 40’s but I could be totally wrong, do you have any ideas on how old this unit is?

Hamilton Beach embraced ball bearings fairly early on. I have a Hamilton Beach upright they proclaimed "ball bearing motor" on the cloth bag. It is a mid 1930's model, so I'd say your Hand Vac was 20's through mid 30's.

If you go to ebay and search on Hamilton Beach Vacuum Cleaner there are brochures for the hand vac from 1939 thru 1950.

There is also a set of attachments for the hand vac in a stunning blue in the original box.

Thanks for the year range dysonman1 this will help me out finding the proper bag for it , if not I will have to make one.
Thanks bikerray I did see the brochure’s , but I found that all pics of the hand vacs looked the same that why I was having a problem figuring out the year, but will be digging into it deeper to make sure on year made.
