    Royal 895 - Handle Assembly?

Thanks. I didn't even consider getting something used from eBay. I don't mind the one you linked being blue, but I'm not a fan with how rusty that looks. There are a few other options I'm looking into there though.

    Royal 895 - Handle Assembly?

My Royal 895's lower hook is cracked and overly flexible. I'm afraid it's going to fall off. I see the part# is 1-256316-000, but it looks riveted to the handle. Is the hook or whole handle (2-088033-000) available anywhere? I'm open to any suggestions managing this.

Another person asking what vacuum to buy...

Final comment... THANK YOU! I didn't think I had the nerve to do this but it was pretty darn easy. A bit awkward to reassemble since you have lots of pieces to line up simultaneously, but that had nothing to do with the motor itself. Now buying a couple small parts to clean things up, but it...

@dysonman1 - I assume you are not in Florida is why you said "If you were near me".

@dysonman1 - I was just about to purchase a motor. Looks like Ametek Lamb Powered(?) Do you have a part number for the Air-way one? I'm having no luck searching that.

Another person asking what vacuum to buy...

I've found a few places online that have a motor, and I THINK I could replace it myself. I was just afraid how bad it would be if I screwed it up. There is one local repair company that will repair it, but they are charging 25% more for the motor and raised their repair cost by 50% in the last...

Another person asking what vacuum to buy...

I can't imagine having a vacuum without attachments. While I don't use them all the time, I do every few months. The carpet isn't completely flat, but it's not extremely thin. I believe the maximum is 3/4" but I can't swear to that.

My Bernina 6100C (Pro) is broken with a motor issue and even two repair stores have recommended not replacing the motor because of it's age. I've been using a 1970s Royal in the mean time. The first store wanted to sell me a used vac that seemed like a poor deal. The second is offering me...

    Bernina 6100C Motor +(?)

No, I didn't wash the filters, but the burning did eventually smell sharper and fresher. I have to admit, I'm a bit too scared to take a stone to this while it's running. It's extremely powerful and tries to fly around when turned on if it isn't being held firmly.

    Bernina 6100C Motor +(?)

Decided to try this without the stone. Removed the motor, cleaned the commutator with WD-40 & toothbrush and then used paper towels to remove most debris and wipe it dry. Removed the brushes and sanded them slightly with fine sandpaper. Used the sand paper (with the vacuum off) to manually...

    Bernina 6100C Motor +(?)

Thinking of going with this stone since it is 5/8" x 1-1/8" x 4-3/4". Probably could use it without needing to cut it down. That said, in the first YT video you linked, a couple people recommended fine sandpaper as a better answer. Thoughts on that...

    Bernina 6100C Motor +(?)

Opened this up again today to see if I could access the commutator and if I had the 'nads to do this with flying sparks. Yes and yes. The surface is 100% black is so I tried using a bar eraser for giggles and it even reduced the sparks. Will pick up a stone and see what happens (needs to be...

Any links to guides on how to do that? Never heard of it.

    Bernina 6100C Motor +(?)

So the motors are available again. They aren't too expensive, but the closest repair store that I don't like won't do the work, and one further away wants to charge me nearly triple the cost to get the part and install it. I dismantled this today to see if I could and was successful. Turning...

    Performing a Royal Upgrade

The EcoVacuum guy is a putz and I won't do business with them again if I can avoid it. That said, his wheels work fine. I had already ordered the Satco S4719 bulb. Installed it yesterday and didn't need to add drops of solder to make it fit solidly. I wish I could get a Cirrus motor for my...
